Hi everyone! I'm just curious if anyone has used or tasted food catered by Lessing's... I'm looking into one of their locations but I want some feedback on the food first because I don't know anyone personally that has used them.... Thank you!!

Re: Lessing's caterers?
I booked the Bourne and the food is EXCELLENT, I mean really good. We went to a food tasting and we ate all three meals ourselves. You can ask for one. There are quite a few Lessing's brides on here at all different locations and all have said the same, the food is excellent.

Re: Lessing's caterers?
My brother and his wife got married 5 years ago at Smithtown Landing Country Club, owned by Lessing's, and it was great. Food and service were both great.

Oh that's awesome! :) Thanks ladies! I'm not sure which one I'm booking yet (or if I can even get my date!! :( ) but I know the food is the same for all so that's good to know. Anyone else?

Re: Lessing's caterers?
I was looking into having my wedding by a Lessing location and I agree the food is very good, but depending where you go, you get a lot more food for your money at some places rather than others! Look at them all and compare!

Stacey04 - can you be more specific? Sorry I'm just curious which venue you are referring to that provides more food than another.... Also do you know someone who had this experience?
Thanks so much :)

Re: Lessing's caterers?
I am also getting married at the Bourne, and the food is outstanding! I know we are getting a ton of food, but we are also paying a crap load of money, so we better get all that food!

Re: Lessing's caterers?
Im another bourne bride. We choose to look into lessings locations because my fav ahs always had good experiences with them. My mom had her fifty b-day at timber point. Other family events at lessings halls include: Sweet 16, Baby Shower, 50th anniversary The food is always good Sorry - never heard of tallgrass though

Re: Lessing's caterers?
Went to a wedding at Smithtown Landing and my FH was eating the Maui Maui and it had tons of bones in it. Other than that the rest of food and the reception hall was nice. Good Luck

Please elaborate on this as well. I have know two people who went to weddings at the Bourne- One was a bride and another was a guest- Both said that the food was just as overwhelming as any other place. I am curious also.

Re: Lessing's caterers?
I found that at Bourne their basic menu starts at a lot higher price, but of course you have lot of add-ons.
At Timperpoint and Smithtown, their basic menus starts at a much lower price and come with a lot more food than the Bourne menu. I went just in the beginning of this year when we were looking. They give more appetizers and their add-ons are cheaper.
Definitly go to them and check it out.

I am really curious now, have you gone to weddings at all three places?

Re: Lessing's caterers?
No but I looked into each one and went to see and spoke with representatives from each one. Got a menu from each one. Just My opinion I guess.
