Lessings Sunken Pavilion

We got engaged on the beach at sunken meadow, so I thought maybe that would be cute. I have heard, though, that there is no air conditioning. It depends on the whole 'look' you are going for too. Good luck!!

pros: it's nearly impossible to find that on-the-beach setting for that price. other venues that come to mind (gurney's, atlantica, crescent beach club, etc.) are basically double the price pp.

cons: the beach is pebbly and the building IMO resembles the snack bars over on robert moses. if you put a lot of energy into decorating--as if you chose a venue in a barn or something where you wanted that rustic appeal w/ lots of DIY projects-- then i think it could be really beautiful in it's own way since there's so much brick on the inside.

i don't know much about service or anything. just what i learned from looking.

i wasn't sure what to expect... the website didn't have so many pics. i loved the whole feel of getting married on the sound, and the casual feel, but i had a few problems with it.

1. they charge guests to park there!! $8 a pop... i guess it would be nice to pay for them, but that add up quick!

2. it was a little too casual for me... there was no bridal suite, and the bathrooms were dressed up 'beach bathrooms'

3. they provide a tent for the food, but if you want a tent for the dancing section, you have to pay something like 1700

4. they do not do a sit down dinner

5. the dining room is the only inside area, so if it rains.... you're sol!

6. they were more expensive than most of the lessings, and you really don't get as much!

oh my goodness... i've went on a litte rant didnt' i?! it was actually one of the ones that i was really hoping to work out before i went there, and was just disapointed. sorry if this discourages you, but it's just my opinion
