Now let me ask this - Would you let a married guest at your wedding bring someone OTHER THAN his spouse?
For those who haven't read my previous post, FH and I find this appalling but really, are we overreacting? I haven't said anything about it yet.

Re: Let me ask this straight out now . . .
If the person is still married (i.e., not separated for some period of time) then I think it is totally inappropriate for them to bring their girl/boyfriend. The person asking is being rude to do so and has totally lost perspective on the fact that they are going to your WEDDING. (you know, commitment, fidelity, love, honestly, etc...)

didnt read your other post...but is this person bringing a friend or a boyfriend/girlfriend? I see no problem with a married person bringing a friend as their guest (some people hate going to weddings alone) bring a bf/gf isnt cool though.

Yes. It's none of my business. And on my wedding day, I will most likely be to busy to care.

Feck no! I think it's awful that the guy would even ask to bring this girl (I read your other post) and, for me, I just wouldn't want to be involved in the whole situation. Having the mistress at your wedding IMO is almost like condoning it, you know?

That is exactly how I feel!

Ugh. I'm torn. It's really none of your concern if this person is cheating but I can see how you don't want to be involved with the mistress attending your wedding.
How would that even work? Send the invite to the married man (presumably he still lives with his wife) and he just brings the mistress? Doesn't the wife know you are getting married and that she is 99% invited with her husband?
If it really bothered me, I'd ask this guy to not bring his mistress. If he does not want to bring his wife, that's on him.

It depends on the situation. If you are inviting a couple and one of them can't make it, what is the big deal if they bring a friend? I wouldn't make an issue out of it. If you invite someone with a guest, regardless of who you thought that guest would be, you have to let them bring whomever they want.

I think it's just in bad taste to bring someone other than who the invitation was adressed to. How do you tell a person though, that they can't bring someone?

Someone my DH works with brought his girlfriend rather then his wife. I had never met him before the wedding and didn't really care...it was none of my concern.

If there not divorced but also not living together I dont think it's wrong but I wouldn't be thrilled about it. Otherwise I dont think they should.

Okay, I just asked FI and he said 'Hell no, he can't bring a mistress to a wedding. You can't allow that around your family.'
FH has spoken.

um... let me think about it. NO way!! That is totally inexcusable, you are not overreacting at all. Unless this person is a brother or sister, etc, which from your previous posts this person is not!

Especially if it's family - no way. Like if an uncle of mine was married and wanted to bring a mistress? No way. Completely inappropriate and your putting yourself in the middle of something you don't want to be in the middle of. It's appalling of him to even ask or put you in that position.
