Let me help you put this all in perspective...

I know you girls probably didn't read the 07 boards... but let me remind back to May of this year.

READ THIS POST.

I think that weddings tend to cause stress, which leads to drama. I just want you all to remember what your wedding and what this forum is all about. It's about marrying the person you love -- and whether you're rich or poor or somewhere in between, it's not important.

there are so many more important things in life than fighting over who can write on which board, which engagement rings are the nicest and most expensive, and who is and isn't classy.

i love giving advice to the 08 girls.. and i think other brides would agree that i've helped them whether it be through posts or FMs .... can't we all just get along?

where's my girl ESPO??? i'm needing the voice of reason!

I totally agree...

I remember reading your post about your husband. Its such a miracle that hes okay. I have had a few scares with my dh being in the military and deployments and it makes me appreciate him, and our marriage so much. Trust me I know that the wedding doesn't matter its the marriage that does! The wedding is just a nice party to celebrate how much u love each-other! We have already been married for a year and we got married in a town hall before John was leaving, no one else was there. Now we are having our 'wedding' and I get to say my vows in front of my friends and family!

i will be the first to admit, that what happened here tonight got out of control. i'm so sorry you and your husband had to go through that horrible accident. i'm glad everything is ok.

we're all human, we all do and say stupid things, and most people including myself can be very defensive when their character is questioned.

i appreciate your help and advice as i'm sure many other girls do.

hopefully this can all be put behind us.

I couldn't agree with you more. I signed up for this sight to get ideas about what my fiance and I might want to incorporate into our wedding - a 5 hour party meant to be shared with our closest family and friends as a way to celebrate our love and commitment to each other, plain and simple.

I agree sometimes we do forget about the whole point of a wedding, the marriage, sometimes we do need to step back and remember this!!!

I'm not arguing that this site isnt aimed at wedding planning, etc. And if thats all you want to get out of the site, then great! But it is a free forum, we are free to post about whatever we like. No one is forcing anyone to read any of the topics. If someone doesnt want to partake in a conversation, poll, etc, they dont have to! Thats the beauty of this! You can pick and choose what you read based on the topic! If someone wants to post something that might be construed as convroversial - like the ring question, or maybe something that might make other ppl uncomfortable, they have no obligation to read it. Personally, I'm not at all comfortable talking about my sex life on here, and so when I see a topic about that I very rarely even read it, let alone reply. I can post a topic called 'I HATE GINA' and if you love gina, you dont have to read it! Or you can read it, and debate with me! No one is saying at ALL that there arent more important, larger things to worry about. But every conversation on here can't be limited to superficial wedding planning (some of us have all of our vendors booked already!) or serious topics. All of these things are fair game! Reply or don't! Get involved in the debate or don't! Jump in the fire, but expect to get burned! I know I like a little heat every now and then

of course... i think that everyone loves a little drama now and then -- it keeps things interesting! believe me, if you look back... i didn't post a thing on the original e-ring thread because price & carat size aren't something that I feel comfortable sharing. I just think that the boards should have LIGHT-HEARTED banter and silly drama... not all out wars and personal attacks!

we're all in what some might consider the best years of our lives....

This is why Hayley rocks!

Girls, here is my 2 cents-I have 2 and 1/2 months left until my wedding...yes, the five hours where we will actually do the deed, take pics, eat food, dance, and have fun. I also have the same 2 1/2 months until I spend the rest of my life with the man who makes my heart skip a beat when I see his face, who is the love of my life, and who I would die for before I would allow him to experience even a little pain.
Hayley sadly learned perspective and has a lot to offer anyone who can get past their egos and need for drama. I look at her pics and cry-not just because she was gorgeous as a bride and had a lovely wedding DAY (notice DAY)-but because I know that in May, all of that could have been taken away from her in a split second. I cry tears of happiness for Hayley and I listen to her and the other NW who learned an important lesson: PERSPECTIVE! I will say it again: PERSPECTIVE! She knows first hand how in the grand scheme of things, a wedding is a big party, but your love will last a lifetime! I will always respect her and every other NW who advises me in my final stretch as an engaged woman, because they do so because they care. This is why we did our alpaca thing-not to say 08 girls are dumb, but because we want to share the gift of PERSPECTIVE!
Sometimes they will be harsh, because we need it to get the point! But I get it, and want everyone else to!

Has planning been all roses and peaches for me? No! I have plenty of drama! But even if my dress has a stain, or if a flower is out of place, I will let NOTHING get in the way of what counts-seeing my handsome prince by my side every day!
