My question is... whats the best and worst wedding you've been too and why?
What are the things that stand out to you?
I went to a wedding a few months ago - when you left you got a midnight snack - chocolate milk and cookies. At my brothers wedding, you got 6 bagels and the newspaper on your way out.
I really want to hear the answers!

Hmm I haven't been to too many weddings but I love a great DJ or band. If I don't dance I didn't have fun!

I went to a religious ceremony where men and women were separated. There were only 2 other girls that I knew...but we couldn't really talk b/c there was lots of prayer....the food wasn't up my alley either (people went across the street to a local bar to get food that werent accustomed to the food)....but I loved the groom so I dealt!!

The best wedding I have been to was with an absolutely amazing band. We danced, did shots and drank all night. It was a very memorable night!
The worst was my cousins wedding in new Mexico. No alcohol, sporks and no air conditioning in july.

the worst wedding i went to i was suppose to be a BM, she asked me then she never told me that she didnt want me in the wedding. but i still told her i would help.
I SET UP EVERYTHING FOR HER!!! the day of the wedding, i set up her whole ceremony, reception, and coordinated.
it was at a VFW in CT, outside under a tent. the ceremony was in the backard of the vfw, next to the beach. all her pics are of fat ladies in bikinis behind her
reception was under a tent that was dirty, and had bright green astro turf as flooring with a plywood dance floor.
Cocktail hour consisted of a dirty table wheeled (yes wheeled) onto the dancefloor with a turene of ranch dressing, a vegetable crudite, and a box of ritz crackers.
she didnt have flowers, she had a dj that played off an ipod, and she had one tapered candle on each table for a centerpiece in a giant glass hurricane.
the bartender served us in plastic glasses. I was miserable. you couldnt even take your shoes off the dance because you would get splinters from the plywood dance floor. I proceeded to drink an entire bottle of captain morgan because i just wanted to drown my sorrows away.
and to top it off, she had two tables of no shows. This just proved to me that she shouldnt have been getting married in the first place. no one wanted to be around her. she didnt even look like she was happy

Whats the most important part of a wedding? As far as what the most important part for me as the bride is the actual ceremony. As far as being a guest at a wedding, the food and DJ.
My question is... whats the best and worst wedding you've been too and why? Every wedding I have been to has been awesome for their own reasons, but my favorite has always been my brother's wedding. I just had the best time at that wedding and everything from the food, DJ, decor, the people, everything was fantastic!
What are the things that stand out to you? When walking into the room, just the overall look of the place, and then I take notice of the centerpieces. Other than that, I don't really spend time analyzing everything - I just enjoy the party. I will notice though if the service is good or bad, the quality of the food, and how well the DJ's performance is.

I think your guests make the wedding. If no one dances, the party just isn't going to be fun. The most fun I've had at weddings is when the music is good, and everyone is having so much fun they never sit down!

she had a $2000 budget and she didnt have any family to help her. she had bad taste and it was just a bad situation altogether. she shouldnt have been getting married in the first place. she knew him for 6 months, he was married twice before, and two years later they are now getting a divorce.

the worst wedding I have been to was in a really pretty garden in Oregon. The 'reception' was under a tent in the garden, which was OK. CH consisted of a beer truck that had 3 taps on the side that you served yourself from. No, I'm not kidding. The only other drinks were a bottle of vodka and a bottle of rum that you could mix your own drinks from for $5 a drink. Now I'm fine with cash bars, but I had no idea that this was the case and it was just weird. And there was also no food at CH except for the personalized M&Ms on each table.
Then for dinner, it was a buffet, which is also fine in my eyes. Except the 'buffet' only had one option for dinner: make your own burritos! There were 4 burner tin things, and one held ground beef, one held refried beans, one held tortillas and one held grilled peppers and onions. AND THAT WAS IT!!!!! Sorry if you don't like burritos!
Then finally, the worst part was that their band was a bluegrass band who played songs that no one knew. NO ONE danced. At all. We actually left right after dinner because it was that bad. I felt a little bad about leaving, but seriously it was awful.

Re: Lets be honest
I've been to about 30 weddings in my lifetime (13 in the last year alone) and all the good ones had great food and lots of it and good music
Worst 2 weddings were out of state.. For one, the cocktail hour was 2 hours long with just alcohol.. No food.. Everyone was drunk and miserably hungry.. The other was a similar CH with one cheese plate, and then dinner was so small... We left both weddings and went to Wendy's we were so hungry.. Also the dancing didn't start till after all the meals were served so they were boring!
Things that have stood out:
Hot Zeppoles on the way out of the Inn The VH presentation (complete with sparklers) at Watermill The VH at Crest hollow (ridic!) Every chocolate fountain at every RH My friends husband rapping to her at their wedding (he was awesome and its so in his character) The CH at jericho terrace (always to die for)
Hmm that's all I can think of.. As you can see I love food
