WHAT IS LAND ON LI REALLY WORTH?
To me, it's worth every penny I pay. I love my neighborhood, the convenience of everything, and being close to all my family. I know there are MANY that will beg to differ.

As for the LI land $$, I love the convenience also. But personally I think LI'ers live in a bubble.

I think if we do get this snow Suzanne wants so badly, she should come over and shovel all our paths and driveways..afterall, she loves it soooo much!

As for the snow, if it comes I don't think it will be anything bad at all - it usually seems when they hype it so much, it's not a big deal.
Worry when they don't say anything, like last Christmas.

As for land on Long Island, I think it depends -JoesLauren's reasons are important so that makes sense but if you don't have anything tying you down to this area then I don't see it.

I myself will continue to live in NY - I love it too much to leave....

OK, Ill come and shovel just as soon as frank buys me that snow blower I want! This weekend there will be no shoveling.. AHHH the joys of renting!!! Im going to miss that!

I agree not only are SUV's obnoxious but so are the women who are driving them feeding their kids. Or the men who think its ok to run you off the road

I agree its mainly the way they are driven that give them a bad name...

just wondering (as I don't have children) - what are alternatives to the family car?

I do NOT like minivans (no offense to any minivan drivers)

station wagons?

just thinking about the future...I have this fear that I am going to have triplets...since both of our cars are only 4 seaters

I love my obnoxious SUV!

But in all honesty, I wouldn't want to be the person in a car front of FH when he's in a hurry because he's one of those people who rides the bumper I usually keep my hands in front of my eyes when he drives.
