As all of us are trying to save for our weddings I had an idea to throw a Gold party. All you have to do is bring your old, broken or unwanted gold or jewlery and to my party and there will be an appraiser there to give you cash ON THE SPOT for your unwanted stuff.
I have found from other parties that they offer more than the flea market will. So it is really a win-win.
I will of course have drinks and snacks and wanted to invite all of you to come and mix and mingle and make some MONEY!
I live in Suffolk County and am thinking of maybe having one in Nassau too at my Aunt's house if she allows. I will know more about the Nassau location soon. I would like to have it around mid to late June. Before I book the appraiser though I want to know if anyone is interested so please let me know!

YAY I am so glad everyone is intersted!!!
I will make the call tomorrow after work to the person who does the appraising and see when works for them, as well as what king of metals (gold, white gold, silver etc.) they accept. I am almost postive white gold is fine, I am not sure about silver though. I would do it tonight but I will be at the JT showcase until late.
I was thinking maybe Sat June 27th if that works for the appraiser and everyone as well. I will do my best to accomodate as many people as possible. You have my word on that!
Also bring a friend!! We all have people that can use some extra cash even if they arn't planning a wedding. Plus I live out east so a buddy to drive with is nice too!

i would totally be down.
i have so much stuff which brings me to my 1 concern. i actually have an old engagement ring and the outside piece, and i'm wondering how that would work? there's obviously diamonds in it, so is this not the right 'place' for me to do this? i've nver had either appraised so i'm lost lol

I would take it to a jewler and have the diamonds removed first keep those bad boys and sell the gold it was set it.
I will ask what to do about pieces like this when I call them.

I actually am a gold party specialist and do it part time. It so much fun for the host and the guests. Plus, the host makes money and so does her guests. . It FUN for all. I did a party a couple of weeks ago which I paid out alomost $10,000 to people at the party. It's a great idea. Have lots of fun and make some money ladies. All the extra cash is good for the wedding expenses.
