lets play dress up

Original post by Im_My_Own_Princess

ok ladies... if i dont find a dress ASAP then this is what I'm wearing to my wedding:

so... would any of you like to dress me up??

I want my dress to match my ring, church and hall... so very antique-y looking
the ring

the church

the hall

--
some dresses i tried on that I LIKED... don't remember the designers or even where I was that i tried them on.

(i think i want something like this:)

i originally had my heart set on this one .. but when i tried it on, i didn't get THAT feeling... so I want to try on other things and if I can't find anything by March 1 then I will be ordering the Mary's dress...

now here's the hard part, I need a dress that's UNDER $1000... (and no davids bridal please, I tried on most of their inventory and nothing felt right).

thanks ladies.

He's gonna leave you if its not white?? Like...if you come down the aisle in an ivory gown he's just gonna walk out the side door??

so he says i doubt he would... but everytime we meet with someone (florists, photogs, etc) and they ask what color my dress is/will be i say white or ivory and FH says 'WHITE!'

Also, when I think 'antique-y', I don't think pure white. I think ivory or champage colored or something like that. Many of the dresses you've posted aren't white and would probably lost that antique feeling if they were ordered in white. Just MHO!

i was with that one too. i was dead set on buying a white dress, until i saw myself in one. mind you it was a sample that who knows how many people tried on & it looked horrible on me. when i told FH & FMIL they looked at me like i was crazy when i said i ordered an Ivory dress. then i should FMIL a picture of me in an ivory dress & in a white dress & she said i made the right call.

just keep an open mind.

Eh, he probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between white & ivory anyway. Buy what looks good on you and what you like, and I'm sure he'll love it no matter what color it is.

ITA... I could wear any shade of white/ivory/cream and he wont be able to tell (based on the fabric).

I think he doesn't want me in beige... which I can understand. He wants me as close to white as possible

thanks ladies, I'll look through all the dresses you girls offered.

keep them coming, I'd love more options!

Try Maggie Sottero's Viera - and remember that you can get it without the ribbon - this dress was actually my 2nd choice and when I tried it on I didn't even know it came with a colored ribbon.

The bridal salon was also going to add more crinoline underneath to make it a tad more 'poofy'.

That is my dress :) I love it!
Without sash and in ivory!
