What is the most amount of money you ever *wasted* on something.
Something you feel was way overpriced... Something you never used...
(This could apply to a service or some type of entertainment, trip, etc. --And I encourage these!! I don't just want to hear about those snake-skin sandals which cost $800.00 that you only wore once!!!)

Well, I need a place to live, so I wouldn't consider it to be 'wasted'. But, in the end I have nothing from it.
Renting for 6 years. Total $80,400

Re: Let's talk about money...
I took a trip to Mexico when I had NO money for it - probably lost $800 on that.
And I'm embarrassed that this happened: I lost about $400 to an 'agent' who said that he could get me in commercials, etc. I didn't know when I was 18 that a legitmate agent doesn't charge you anything until you get real work. Stupid me I found out shortly after.

Tell us Tell us Tell us
(Also, did you know how much it was going to cost or were you surprised at the last minute? It can't be more than I paid to be in my cousins wedding. I swear, it can't be!)

I can't even begin to add up the $ I spent on clothing and shoes that I never wore.
Thousands!

Re: Let's talk about money...
This will sound dumb but ... acrylic nails!!!!!! I started when I was 13. By the time I was 14 I was getting them filled in every WEEK ( not every other week like everyone else) and replacing the whole set every 2 months like clockwork (supposedly this was better for my real nails) I did that from 14 to age 19 If I could go back and add it all up it would be THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars.. thrown away. The last time I wore them was for my wedding.. and I bit them off shortly after b/c I wanted nothing to do with them!! I can't even look at fake nails without getting mad

ditto... I got them weekly for about 13 years...and paid up to $40 per week depending on what I got done. I finally soaked them off about 5 years ago & am able to grow in my own nails quite well.

Re: Let's talk about money...
$270. I was supposed to getr rebates on my camera. When i bought teh camera, the guy circled which rebates I'd be getting, and helped me buy the right stuff. When I sent it in, I didn't buy the right stuff for the rebate and when i called the store he was like 'they don't give rebates on the less exensive lenses' meanwhile I spent $900 of which I thought I would get $270 back. it still makes me really upset because I feel I was misled!

Re: Let's talk about money...
$2000 on braces for my bottom teeth before the wedding. I had had braces when I was 10-13, but did not wear my retainer so one tooth on the bottom shifted. I started becoming paranoid about it, though no one else even saw it--only my top teeth.
So I spent $2000 on a tooth no one ever noticed but me.

My Pottery Barn dining room table ... it's too big, we never eat at it and it scratches so easily, I don't think we could get decent $$ if we tried to sell it

Re: Let's talk about money...
not really one thing, but I buy a lot of clothing & hair/makeup products that I then decide I don't like & toss.
I also spent $300 dollars on a gym membership & I went maybe 5 times.
