What is the most amount of money you ever *wasted* on something.
Something you feel was way overpriced... Something you never used...
(This could apply to a service or some type of entertainment, trip, etc. --And I encourage these!! I don't just want to hear about those snake-skin sandals which cost $800.00 that you only wore once!!!)

When DH and I were kids we got scammed at a cranival for about $300 which was a ton of money to us at the time.
Did you know each other when you were kids or did you figure this out later in life?

Re: Let's talk about money...
I'm sure there are bigger things if I thought about it, but here are the two most recent wastes of money.
My friends bachlorette party
I was kinda broke at the time, and all 10 of us had to kick in $250. That would've been that bad, but all we did was go to a sleazy male strip club. I HATE MALE STRIPPERS!!!! I spent the whole night avoiding them. It was gross and a waste of $$. I wish we would've done something fun for that kind of cash.
Motley Crue Concert
This wouldn't have been that bad, but it was another very broke time and I had to shell out $150 so we could get a limo and stuff. It was OK, but $150 to see Motley Crue!! I don't think I would've paid that in the 80's when I actually liked them!! But I promised my friend months before that I would go.

Re: Let's talk about money...
lets see-
2 weeks ago i got a rash on my trip to chicago. i get home, fh gets the rash. i CONVINCE myself (after searching on the internet) that i MUST have brought bugs back from chicago hotel (#2 hotel there mind you)
no, like an idiot i dont go to the doctor so i spent $175 on an exterminator. then i decided he wasnt thorough enough (after reading more internet) so i hire one for $750! every night i sleep on the couch with the lights on so i dont get bitten by the 'bugs'.
then i spend $200 drycleaning all my down bedding and jeans. and spend countless hours washing all my beautiful clothes in hot water to kill the 'bugs'
(mind you I only saw one bug and i decided, you guessed it- from the INTERNET- that this was a bedbug)
well, long story short, the week before my trip fh was cutting all sorts of crazy bushes in our yard.
doctor tells us its poison ivy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ansd that it takes a week to come out and that i must have handled his clothes or something and that it spread to me.
so i wasted over $1000 on NOTHING

Re: Let's talk about money...
Spring break my junior year of college. FH and I and 3 of our friends went to Daytona beach and Orlando. It was such a waste of money. Nothing was included, and I am not a fan of Orlando. Why did I go then? Because it was a package deal and the company didn't tell us we were spending 3 days in Daytona beach and 3 days in Orlando. We were so pissed. It must have been an $600 trip all told, and we should have gone to Mexico instead.

Re: Let's talk about money...
I wanted to take a class at TVI Studios with a certain casting director. The class was $400 and was well worth it. The problem was that they talked me into joining the studio for an additional $400. I never used another service of theirs. I have no idea why I did it. I am usually not such a sucker, but I guess we all have moments of weakness.

DH and I have been together for ten years, so we were at the carnival together. I think he was 18 at the time and I was 17.

MY 2002 Jaguar X-type lease for 3.5 years. I'd never lease again and the car was a piece of !@#$. It was at the dealer over 20 times for repairs. Over $15,000 in lease payments
