Lets talk about 'the kids'...

All the mommies out there (Liz, Phyl, Claud (come on Claud!!), Tracy, Heather, Karen, Meredith, etc etc..ALL OF YOU !) ... We know how precious those kids are, how many amazing things they do and say every day...
Share some with us ! I am just amazed every day @ the new things John Anthony can do, how he is learning day to day, and how he is growing and comprehending the world around him...

Some things I'd like to 'rave' about :

-He has mastered fixing the binky if it goes in his mouth upside down. Its great to watch. He'll take it out, pass it to the other hand, turn his hand, and IN it goes, rightside up, $uck, $uck, $uck, ...'AHHHH, now THAT'S my BINKY ! '

-He just recently started with-whining and groaning if something is taken away from him! Lets say Im dressing him and I need to take a toy out of his hand to put his arm through the sleeve 'AHHHH '..Its the cutest thing !!

-I can easily make him laugh his little heart out. I just have to laugh myself and he is all smiles from ear to ear and giggles with me! We do it all the time as we're strolling through stores !

Im looking SOO Forward to the day that he:
-GIVES ME A KISS !
-Waves hello and goodbye
-Blows me kisses *meltsss*
-Says 'I Love you mommy' *crumbles***

OK, so i'm in a sappy mommy mood today ! He'll be 6 months on Wed, and its a really emotional thing for me ! 6months is the BIG TIME !

Everyone else, jump in with some good stories !

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

OK I wanna play:

As everyone knows Emma has taken her first steps.

I began pointing to my nose and saying 'Mommys nose' then pointing to her nose and saying 'Emmas nose'. Then I would ask her where mommys nose is and she points to my nose or ask her where Emmas nose is and she points to her nose. (Im so proud of her for that)

She hears her name and comes crawling when I call her name.

She gives hugs

She gives kisses

She sways back and foreward with music (dances)

Ill think of more dont worry

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Annalise is 3 and a half months old. She loves being in her exersaucer more than anything except nursing. She learns how to use another item on it each day. My dh and I get so excited we have to get the digital or video camera. He even wanted me to get out of the shower tonight to watch her 'driving' with the steering wheel. We have become so mushy. Even though she is smiling for 2 months now, I still melt over each one. She tries to 'talk' to us a few times a day. I have a conversation with her as if she inderstands. When she says words by chance I start jumping up and down. I love being a mom more than I ever imagined. I hope those of you who are expecting or want children are blessed with as beautiful a gift as I have received. For those who do not want children, I hope there is something or someone in your life who makes you feel as lucky and blessed as my dh and I do. We thank each other for her everyday and stare in amazement for hours. I ;ook forward to all the thiongs Anna mentioned, but I am in no rush to get there. I am enjoying the smaller milestones thoroughly.

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Well at 20 months Patrick is VERY close to the terrible 2!!

He can open the bedroom door

He can climb on to EVERYTHING!!!

He does run over to give hugs & kisses. Which is the BEST!!!

He still won't say Momma!! (At this point I think he's doing it on purpose) But he's says tea, hot, what's that, Daddy & a few more.

He loves the show 'The Wiggles' & dances to them all the time. And certain songs he knows when to touch the floor & turn around. It's 2 cute.

And he feeds himself now!!

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

okay, my turn... I think my little guy is one of, if not the oldest. He turned 2 in December. He is becoming such a little man. He can now have a full conversation with you!!! He is very independent - which I am starting to love more and more. He knows where his videos are and how to put them into and take them out of the vcr - he even adjusts the volume!!! At first, I was upset that he was able to do so much more on his own, but lately I am loving it LOL!!! I am also very proud of all he knows: frineds and family by name, all his colors, he can count to 10, all body parts,a nd he can spell Justin.

What wonders they are!!!

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Heather,
The LIW Kids GTG is a great idea !! Count me in ! or Count US in
Start a thread on it !! or I will !! :)

Victoria, youre right about it being amazing to watch all the little milestones and enjoying them thoroughy... We are the same about every little thing. We call eachother from whatever we're doing to watch this amazing child and the things he can do (Sidenote:Victoria Dont keep her in the exersaucer for too long periods of time. I belieive under 4 months should be ten minute intervals at the most...) My MIL wouldnt even 'let me' until he was 4 months old, LOL.
Now he jumps all over it, pulls things off of it, drools all over it !

Tracy-oh, im looking fwd to the toddler stage Thats too cute though, how he is becoming this little independent and strong individual, amazing !

Heather-they seem to learn about the tv and vcr before anything else, huh ? TOO adorable !!!

Karen-she gives kisses and hugs, and come crawling to the sound of her name!!?? You must melt into butter every time !

I Love ALL these stories ! Keep em coming !

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Great thread!! DH and I were just saying last night that we only have 2 months to go, but we have SO MUCH to look forward to in the months, and years to come!! I'm so curious what our baby's personality is going to be like.

I'm already thinking about the next baby too!!

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

my turn now...hehe
Julianne just turned 3 months. She has been holding herself upright for about 1-1/2 months ...but now can hold her head up a lot longer.
she loves looking around at all the people whenever we have company. She will rarely nap then - she wants to be a part of the party.
She has discovered her toes about a week ago...and discovered tht she can control them. SO when she is in her swing, she will point her toes to make it go faster...and she loves to stand up in your arms.
She has been 'talking' for about 3 weeks now. Does a lot more for daddy than mommy- maybe because she looks like him?

SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! yay!!!
(except for last night- up from 3-5am)

She has discovered her fingers and LOVES To **** on them. Gets herself to sleep with those fingers...and calmed herself through her welcoming ceremony with them.

BEAMING SMILES...wow! WE can get blinded! I love it all!

Thanks for the thread Anna and allowing all of us to brag a bit!

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Okay my turn. What to say about kayla, hmmm, she is 17 months and going on 21, LOL!! No really she thinks she is 2 and she is not. Everything is no, no, no as she points her finger and waves it. Her little no's are so cute, but starting to get fresh.

She likes to test me, I like to do puzzles so when she is watching tv and I am on the couch doing a puzzle she will come over to me and go to touch it and I say, 'kayla, no that's mommy's' she will look at me and really quick rip the puzzle apart.

She has her 5th tooth and I think all the other one's are about to come in anyday now and she is in pain. Oh and everything is really wet around her. dribble dribble.

She does all the cute things like hugs and kisses, she picks up the phone and says hello, and she says bye bye and blows kisses.

She likes to dance to music, she is going to be the next brittany. LOL! She better not!!

Okay, no more bragging, I can go on and on for hours, we will just all have to do the GTG and see all the kiddies for ourselves.

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Alright Anna...I'm here to play for this one! This snow has thrown me into a depression and I've totally caved on my willpower to NOT sit at the computer (I feel terrible!)
Anna - I LOVE the story about JA and his Binky - I can so vividly remember when Paul was finally able to do that!

Okay, I will brag about my boy! Where do I begin? I am sure there are things I can't even think of right now, but here goes:

- Paul knows his name and will respond to it.

- He can crawl faster than I can walk sometimes - you've got to see this kid MOVE!

- He knows when he's doing something he shouldn't - he'll race away from me and GIGGLE the entire time!

- He can clap his hands at all the right times when you sing 'If You're Happy and You Know It....'

- He waves good-bye!

- He can feed himself (by hand - no utensils yet) anything that is cut into small pieces and placed on the tray of his highchair.

- He says Dad and Mom often.

- He gives Daddy hugs and Mommy kisses (I'm the only one he will give kisses to - talk about MELTING your heart!)

- He knows how to shake hands (Grandpa taught him that!)

- He throws his arms above his head to show 'How Big' he is when you ask - How big is Paul? (Grandma taught him that!)

- He's almost walking without holding on, although he's taken a step here and there...I don't count that as walking yet though...

- He knows how to put the cap back on his bottle when he's finished drinking.

- He will feed Mommy Cheerios in the morning...he likes to share! He's even offered me his Binky once or twice - now THAT'S how much he loves Mommy! LOL!

- He amazes me EVERYDAY with something new that he can do. I am totally awed by such a little person and I love him with all my heart!
