Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Original post by anna

All the mommies out there (Liz, Phyl, Claud (come on Claud!!), Tracy, Heather, Karen, Meredith, etc etc..ALL OF YOU !) ... We know how precious those kids are, how many amazing things they do and say every day...
Share some with us ! I am just amazed every day @ the new things John Anthony can do, how he is learning day to day, and how he is growing and comprehending the world around him...

Some things I'd like to 'rave' about :

-He has mastered fixing the binky if it goes in his mouth upside down. Its great to watch. He'll take it out, pass it to the other hand, turn his hand, and IN it goes, rightside up, $uck, $uck, $uck, ...'AHHHH, now THAT'S my BINKY ! '

-He just recently started with-whining and groaning if something is taken away from him! Lets say Im dressing him and I need to take a toy out of his hand to put his arm through the sleeve 'AHHHH '..Its the cutest thing !!

-I can easily make him laugh his little heart out. I just have to laugh myself and he is all smiles from ear to ear and giggles with me! We do it all the time as we're strolling through stores !

Im looking SOO Forward to the day that he:
-GIVES ME A KISS !
-Waves hello and goodbye
-Blows me kisses *meltsss*
-Says 'I Love you mommy' *crumbles***

OK, so i'm in a sappy mommy mood today ! He'll be 6 months on Wed, and its a really emotional thing for me ! 6months is the BIG TIME !

Everyone else, jump in with some good stories !

Claud-I hope you both come to our 'kiddie' GTG !

PS-My willpower to stay on 'for short' periods is bad sometimes too ! yesterday I was on and off all day TODAY, I MUST get more stuff done (aside from smooching my boy who is always right by my side )

Re: Lets talk about 'the kids'...

Everyone sounds so adorable - I can picture all the little cuties doing their thing.

Here's what Luke is up to:

-rolls everywhere! I first rolled at the end of February but recently he became an avid roller. He did 2 360 turns in a row on Saturday and at the end his face looked like he was saying 'what happened?'

-can sit up very briefly. He rights himself as he tips over but them gravity takes over and down he goes, usually face first into his feet. His head is in the 95th perceontile so he's got alot to hold up.

-he rediscovered 'the raspberry'. This is another thing he learned a month or so ago but I guess he forgot how to do it. I have the 10 soggy bibs a day to prove he does it non-stop now. The other day my Mom & I were in the store and the salesperson said 'Bye cutie' to him and Mom said to Luke 'say bye bye' and on cue he blew the salesperson a big raspberry. We were laughing our a$$es off!

-he wants to stand like crazy. He legs have gotten so strong in the past 2 weeks, he went from the legs buckling to being really solid so fast.

-I know that ****iness that Anna described. I have also gotten a 'tude from him for taking a toy out of his hand. The back goes all stiff and boy oh boy, does he get his Irish up! He also had a fit recently when I was bringing him to the glider to feed him and instead of going straight (to where the glider is) I made a turn into his room to get the boppy - he had a fit on me!!! Do the terrible twos begin at 5 1/2 months ? LOL

-he's in love with his Dad. I just carried him in my belly for 9 months and feed and bathe him most of the time (Sigh!) I get plenty of smiles and all the other great stuff but when he sees Derek he lights up like you wouldn't believe. I hear they go through back and forth phases so I'm waiting for my turn.

-he's eating solids twice a day. He loves his food....and makes a huge mess. I'm a slave to cleaning that highchair!

Well those are the biggies for now. No teeth yet but all in good time.

Great topic!
