so i may or may not have touched on this before, but the cake that the chcc offers is the ugliest thing on earth... well its not my style anyways and will not be makin an appearance at our wedding. thats the only cake they offer in the 'package' yeah w/e... it's bs. it looks like a cake my parents had at their wedding in the 1980's...

It's Top Tiers (also know as cakes by Jay). His name is Jason Ellis - he is recreating the cake I wanted from a photo I gave him - he gave me a rate better than 5 other bakeries I inquired with AND the tasting was delicious!

im having a 4 tier different shaped (bottom square, next one up round, next one up hexagon, top round) fondant, seashells, monogram, pearls, etc etc for approx 150 ppl
his tasting was to die for, FH HATESSSSSSSS cake, does NOT eat cake.....he now will only eat Michael's cakes...it's a running joke now!
they're really great to work with too. he even made a mock cake out of styrafoam for me because i wasnt sure what shapes i wanted...or how it would look when it was actually done together!

we're getting ours through the RH, but they contract to a bakery called D&D in farmingdale and I know NOTHING about them.. I heard from a family friend that they have the best rainbow cookies EVER, but that doesn't really help me with info on my wedding cake.
will chcc give you a credit for not using their cake? v.e.r.d.i's said they'd give us $500.00.

we are also getting ours through the RH. they only deal with 1 bakery so i asked who the bakery was & it happens to be a very good bakery. anywho. they should us a book of the bakeries work & when i said i wanted something different the hall told me no problem. they said i can bring pictures to them & they will send them over to the bakery & i can also go to the bakery to discuss with them too. we also got the RH to put extra money toward the cake allowance because we didn't want an ice sculpture.

they said that they would not give us a credit, which i think is such complete bs!!! i am actually thinking of having their cake but making it completely plain and serve it up at ch if they're not gonna give me credit. idk what else to do... if im stuck paying for a cake that we won't have at the rh why not serve it somehow, idk its kinda frustrating...

Was is the one with the big rose flowers on the top? I was like I don't want those...They are changing it here and there for me...no flowers, besides real ones, and fondant...It cost us a little more, but it was worth it.

Yeah, their cakes are so 80s. I know a 2009 bride just asked for the plain cake, brought ribbon to the bakery and had them put it on. CHCC wasn't happy, but the cake looked really nice. It $ucks that they are being such bishes about it and not even crediting you back the money.
