I just found a post where someone said that putting where you are registered on a bridal shower invitation is tacky. Is that so? I don't see the difference between doing that and doing the registry cards. I'm soooo clueless!

Re: Letting people know where you are registered
Ummmm that's kind of the norm to put registry info with the shower invites.

I don't think that's tacky at all. That's usually how people find out where you're registered...it is usually placed in the bridal shower invite.
I'm not sure if she was talking about a wedding invitation or a bridal shower invitation.

Re: Letting people know where you are registered
Its totally fine (and expected) to include registry info with shower invites.
Wedding invites is a no-no, but a shower its fine.

Re: Letting people know where you are registered
that's why stores make registry cards. It's not tacky at all. How else is anyone going to know where you are registered?
You only include them in the shower invites though, not the wedding invitations.

Re: Letting people know where you are registered
I think it's more acceptable to put information about your wedding website in the invitations and have the registry information on there.
Yes, it's one extra step, but it's a lot less like you're asking for $ / gifts from people that way. Weddings are still not supposed to be about the gifts, although a lot of people focus on it. Guests like to give gifts because they want to, not because it's expected or necessary.

Re: Letting people know where you are registered
I dont plan to have a bridal shower so informing my guests of my honeymoon registry will be a real mystery. Obviously putting that information in the wedding invitation is improper.
I thought about doing a web site and then just emailing it to everyone..but the way it looks, FH and I are probably going to have a LOT of cards in that Card Box at our wedding because we don't plan to register at Macys, Bed Bath, Target, or any of those stores. All we care about is people contributing $$ toward the HM.

Re: Letting people know where you are registered
Um yea you are def supposed to put your registry info on your bridal shower invites or put a little card in with the invite...either way, that is where you spread the word about your registry.

Yeah, I've always received a shower invitation with the registry information in the envelope also. It's not tacky at all.
