I just made my appt. for the L2 sonogram for 2 weeks. They told me to bring a video tape. I was wondering if the BTDT Mom's can tell me what to expect. Is it in 3D? What if I don't want to know the sex do they make you turn away? Also I 'm going to Great Neck Woman's Care on Northern Blvd. Has anyone been there? I'm delivering at LIJ -anyone else?

I had a 3D at my L2, as well as a regular anatomical sonogram. When they did the anatomical, they told us to turn away at one point if we didn't want to know the sex, and during the 3D, they only focused on the baby's face.

I've been to Great Neck Women's Center and as of 3 years ago, they only did regular level 2 sonograms. My current ob told me that the 3D ones are only good later in pregnancy because there is more fat on the baby and they look more 'human' at that point.
I later learned that GNWC is one of the few places that allow videotaping. The place I went to with my son and now this baby does not do it. I think it's a liability issue.
Just tell them when you first get there that you do or do not want to know the gender.
