Danielle and I were just wondering how the area of Levittown was? Is it a good area? How are the schools?
The reason being is that we are finding alot of houses in the prices of the mid $350's. That is pretty cheap now.
Alot of these house arent levittown house, even though I wouldnt mind living in one as long as it was redone and expanded. A few of them are expanded capes, with 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a full finished basement...I like capes....danielle's mom and dad lives in one....that was expanded and it is really nice.
So if anyone has any info on Levittown, I would really appreciate it... Thanks, Scott

Well I live in Levittown and my hubby grew up in Jericho. Some people give it a bad wrap but we are happy here. I have a nice sized house (renovated and expanded cape) and my neighbors are fantastic. So take what you hear with a grain of salt. If you want more info FM me. Best of luck.

We are closing on our house in Levittown next week. We will be in the Island Trees School District. Island Trees is a smaller district and my husband went there. Also the taxes are lower than in Levittown School District.

Island Trees SD is the better district
I think Levittown got a bad rap years ago and they cant get rid of it

I have family that live there, it's a really nice neighborhood and they totally transformed their cape into a 2 story. I can't get the pic to post but if you're interested fm me your email and I'll send it to you. My young cousins go to private school so I have no info about the school system

It isnt a bad neighborhood but the schools really arnt that great...About 10 yrs ago when I was in HS their was an article about how certain sections are horrible I think Mcgarther HS is better than Divison. I am in Hicksville but like 1/2 mile from levittown.. If you can get into that area the Hicksville schools are much better. I know the houses are more $$ too. I went ot catholic schools so was never in the public schools but from what I hear they have rasied their standards... Newsday puts out a report every year i think on the school districts.. It tells you how many graduate, go to a 4 yr college 2 yr college. drop out, pass regents, all that jazz It might be worth taking at look at it so you can compare different districts.
