I am in the process of researching photographers & DJ's from CA..I spoke to John from vip and really got a good vibe about him over the phone..can I ask you to tell me more about his work..and who else you looked at. Also who is your MC/DJ at Class Act..and did you look into other dj's?? thanks

John is very nice, just a warning though, his studio is out of his house so when you meet him you go there. When I saw him, he was playing with his son so he was a bit disheveled but thats understandable. Stef28 is using him also :) I wanted some b&w and action photos. Posed are nice but I wanted to make sure they were capable of taking good pics while things were happening. He had some nice ones that were posed- funny ones that made the people laugh and nice candid shots too. I didnt look around too much only saw about 3 people and went with him. Class Act Mike (owner) is the DJ and I am not sure who the MC will be. I didnt ask, we liked Mike so much we just trusted him. We looked into about 6 DJs and he was the ONLY ONE who said since my wedding was in the am, I wouldnt need lights or fog or anything like that. The others tried to sell it to me so that was a big thing. He made a point that he will NOT play any music with curses in it weather you want him to or not. He was just very honest and down to earth, the minute we met him we knew. His prices vary depending on what you want but our was VERY reasonable. I have called him a few times to bug him about songs and he has called me right back and given me alot of help. Tell him Kim from the Sept 30 East Wind Wedding referred you. oh, if you want to see a bit of his presentation, he does a little thing at Wedding World in Commack once in a while. He shows you what he does and how he does it. Its hard judging people without seeing how they work but this did give us an idea. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!!

wow thanks for all the info....i am so bummed..b.c me and my FI are going to LI for a week..and we are missing the bridal showcases at Eastwind & Watermill..so I will call Wedding World and see if we can catch Class Act..thanks!!!!!

The one at East Wind is nice, I havent been to the one at Watermill. East Wind has Tommy Tunes, a band (which was horrible when we were there), house florist, ADP Studios for florists and Bridal Suite of Patchogue showing dresses. Its nice but you wont really miss too much. The only info we took away from it was the $100 gift certificate to Bridal Suite, but if you dont have that they will still give you the discount.

Tommy Tunes..is a DJ..you thought they were bad?? I have heard all good things about them so far...how can you get the $100 GC for bridal suite, can I still get it if I dont go to the bridal show??

I didnt dislike Tommy Tunes, I just liked Class Act better. Tommy Tunes was one that we were considering but he tried to sell us stuff we didnt need (lights, fog) during the middle of the day so we wouldnt be able to really use them. They do a good job, I just hit it off with Mike and his honesty better. If you go to Bridal Suite just tell them that you didnt go to the showcase but can they give you the discount anyhow or when you get the dress or any dress from any store ask how much better they can do- they will prob drop the dress about $100 anyhow. I didnt have the certificate and they dropped it for me.

oh..okay, just checking. I have a list of about 5 dj's I want to stop into their offices and meet. We have a few videos. SInce we are only on LI for a week..and wont get to see any of the dj's in person, I like to hear other peoples feedback. I am thinking of changing my flight to try to make the watermill showcase, body rock and tommy tunes will be there..i hate to be a pain, but did you hear body rock at all?? thanks leyanne i appreciate your input..have a good weekend

No problem at all. I havent heard body rock, but I am sure someone else her has :) There are so many out there and its all so much. Try not to get overwhelmed (like I did). When you get home from each, write your thoughts down about them. When your all done, you can review your notes and remember who and what you saw. Thats how I did it. Makes it a bit easier.
