I have started to apply all over and am just wondering what some good districts are. I really don't know where to start. Thanks.

Re: LI Elementary Teachers
I would judt send it everywhere. I have friends who don't work in the best districs, I don't work in the best either, but that doesn't mean that you won't love it there. Sometimes those really good districts are not the best to work in.
I say send your resume everywhere and worry about it when you get an offer

That's true. It's just so different than applying in the city so I'm a bit lost.

FH's sister lives in Holbrook so I know a bit of the area. I am really Long Island illiterate.

I agree send everywhere becuase with how hard it is to get an LI job you cant be too picky haha
I waited a few years and finally decided to just try NYC.
She is right RVC is a great district but you may not want to work there, the parents are very difficult and all feel entitled to everything. they wip out lawyers for everything.

I've been teaching in the city for 5 years. The commute is hellish and it's not worth it to stay where I am. I just worry that now that I have my masters it will be even harder to find a job.

Re: LI Elementary Teachers
I know. I am just thinking they will hire someone with less experience because of the pay scale.
Right now my commute is about 2 hours in the morning and 2 1/2 to 3 after work. I've just been staying at my Dad's during the work week, then out to LI on the weekends.
