I have been hearing this mentioned quite a bit lately and am curious to know what it is?

Re: LI Housing Partnership
they sponser programs to get people that need assistance purchaseing a home. Most of there programs for for low cost housing. You have to qualify by making a certain amount. And after that, they have a lottery to pick the winners.
The last home we entered in was the project off the LIE in Melville. They offered 30 newly built townhomes at 140k or something like that. Over 2000 people applied. It was very sad not having your name called (we went to the lottery) but you never know.
Not so! My husband and I are in a middle income range. We went to LI Housing Partnership to see a counciler to learn about the home buying process. She went over our finances and helped us figure out what we could afford. Because we took this one hour 'course' we qualified for a loan for first time home buyers with good credit in our income range. We put down 8% and didn't have to pay PMI with this loan.
what you are talking about is counsolering, special types of loans...which i didnt go in to detail. i know them for low cost housing for low to middle income people. either way... they are a good point to start looking for a home with loans and possible houseing assistance

Re: LI Housing Partnership
Hey, I was just wondering what is the range of combined income to be qualified for low income status? Can someone FM me this info if you don't feel comfortable posting it public?
Thanks so much!

Re: LI Housing Partnership
MC is right. I believe the combined household income is $60K. If you are making more than that then you will not be eligible for the program. I wanted to do this as well but was told that we are making too much money for that particular program so we are working with a counselor for first time home buyers.

We went there and even though we werent eligible for a grant we meet with Lynn Law who is absoulty wonderful, she helped us so much, she went over everything and helped us get a mortgage same thing we qualified for first time homebuyers and she found us Bank of america, sent all of our paperwork to the Loan Officer and we were approved same thing no PMI. I love her, she was so helpful, I just sent her a gift basket to thank her for eveything. Im telling you go and meet with her you have nothing to loose. It is free.
