LI Mansion Weddings!!

LI Mansion Weddings!!

Sooo I am newly engaged and I am dreaming for a Mansion wedding I dont mind getting married in Dec/Jan to help in pricing but I am not from Long Island and have never been to any of these venues so I need suggestions pleaseee...I have already eliminated some based on price and size.

-NYIT de Seversky Mansion (Only holds 150 and they have this interesting wedding style called European style Dinner in one room and Dancing in another not really for me)

-Hempstead House (BEAUTIFUL BUT an $11,000 site fee with nothing inculded except the use of the grounds too expensive for me ('');

-Oheka Castle(Beautiful outside but the ballroom to me is so average I feel takes away from the feeling that you are in a castle and the site fee is also outrageous)

-Vanderbilt Mansion at Centerport is my fav fav fav but they dont do weddings past Oct 31

-Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling (No more weddings again sad)

Now I am left with these I just saw the Bourne Mansion yesterday and I am just IN LOVE with the ballroom mainly because it was part of the mansion not added construction like some of the other mansions.

The only thing is I felt I was quoted a bit high for a off season month. $125 + + and a $2000 site fee that brings me to $160 on a Sunday in Dec????
Anyone book bourne around these months?? Is that too high?

My next favorite is Glen cove mansion she gave me an AWESOME price and I love that you can use the entire facilty all day unlike Bourne only 2 hours in advance and I love the Pub but I feel like the ballroom is an odd shape? and the carpet is SO GREEN! Any glen cove mansion brides? What do you think?

The Mansion at Woodside acres I havent seen yet but I feel like I might like it anyone know their pricing or how their weddings are?

Maybe check out the Woodlands....They are fairly priced and it's also very pretty. They were a front runner for us for a little while.

No probs! You can get a lower site fee if you book in Jan-March at the Bourne. But most of these old mansions do come with a site fee. I guess it's for building maintenance? FM me if you have any questions though.

try the Royalton. Although I got a price of $185 pp for a Saturday for October 2013. And the room is very small there. They say it holds 200+ but 180 was tight.

When you drive up to the Bourne, you're presented with a huge driveway lined with huge pine trees. It's breath-taking!

Check out Jedediah Hawkins in Jamesport...it's an old house but beautifully restored. I think they do small weddings. Congrats and good luck!

My cousin got married at the Woodlands last year. It was like that scene in Bridesmaids, where she has to ride up to the front of the mansion on the horse. It was UNBELIEVABLE!

Woodlands! Better price than Bourne, wood side acres is expensive too. Glen cove has a funky smell and the ballroom is shaped weird

We almost went with de seversky but the euro style put us off. Also expensive.

Seriously, the food and the ambiance at the woodlands is amazing, you'll love it. (Ps) the wood walls were brought in from Ireland!)

I looked at every mansion there is lol
