I have seen high taxes on LI but this one takes the cake

Way too high, if you're lucky, you'll find a house with taxes at about $4,000, but I think the average is probably closer to $6,000!

My neighbor just got reassessed for $36,000!
My DH and I are not looking forward to our new taxes when we finish remodeling.

What the hell do they have that's costing them $36k? Did they level the existing home and build a 10,000+sq ft new one?

From what our expeditor (sp?) has told us, waterfront homes have very high taxes anyway.
However, you are right in that they did expand their home to 8,000 square feet.
