This new page is awful. I used to check the chat once in a while to see what everyone was asking and maybe have some questions answered. Now it takes a rediculous amount of time to to view anything. Also, the old format was more appealing. Any chance of going back to the old layout?

Change is great as long as it's an improvement and a step forward. It seems like here we've taken a step back. It would be great if it, at least, wasn't so slow. When it takes so long to get to the bridechat index, it discourages people from reading and posting messages. I'm not on here half as much as I used to be; it simply takes too long. Thank you.

The reason it is taking long is that you need to update your preferences. The default is to view all posts for the last week. Because the board is so active this amounts to hundreds of posts. Set the preferences to view for the past day or few days. This will reduce the size of the page and thus load faster.

The layout is almost identical to the old. We even retained the same verbiage. The new version allows you to print and email posts.

I find that you have to do a lot more scrolling around to get the information you are looking for. Even when reading the postings, I have to scroll down half the page to read what is said. It is very inconvenient. I understand that LI Weddings needs the advertising, but the ads are taking up a lot of space. Can't the ads be put at the bottom of the screen instead of at the top? 3. Finally,

Mary, The font we are using for the board is the same as the old and the ads are on the side. You are scrolling more because there are more postings!

When you hit 'back' with the old format, you returned to where you were before. Now you are left at a random location within the postings.

I just tried that and it worked for me on Windows 2000 using Internet Explorer. What operating system and browser are you using? FYI - If anyone has any concerns with the way the site functions we need to know what operating system you are on and the browser (and version) you are using. We need to re-create the problem before we can fix it. Also, we just set the default preference to 3 days. This will speed things up for everyone.

I think it`s easier to read posts now. Before, you would have to scroll far down to see each post and their responses. The layout is now easier to read what response is meant for each post, so you don`t need to scroll just to know what post matches the original. Plus, I have a cable modem, so maybe that`s why I`m not experiencing the slowness others have.

Don't get me wrong, I like the look of the new board. Maybe it is my computer or something, but I feel I do a lot more scrolling now than I used to. Now, the posting is on the lower portion of the page. Maybe it is the heading, was the full LI Weddings caption there on the old board? I personally don't remember.

It didn`t seem to me that anyone was bickering. It just seemed that people were voicing their concerns over the new site and what problems they may be experiencing. There were several positive posts about the new site along the thread. If you think this is bickering, you haven`t seen anything. Believe me, there was no bickering in this thread.

Teri, I also like the new format. It`s taken a little getting used to and LIWeddings.com has made many improvements/changes through our requests to get it where it is now. While I don`t like having to click into each individual post, and I do feel like I do more scrolling than before, I am becoming more comfortable with this format and do like it now.

We are voicing our opinions. It's a new format and I think LI Weddings wants our feedback. If they didn't, they wouldn't be answering us. Ironic that you are telling us to grow up, and you won't even put your name on it.
