LI weeding reception

Please help me make a decision. My fiance and I have seen at least 20 different catering halls and we''re going crazy!!! We are trying to decide between the George Washington Manor and the Swan Club. We also liked the Westbury Manor. Can anyone give me feedback on these places, especially the George Washington Manor???

Westbury Manor ...

There are only 2 weddings there - so I hardly think you'll get confused. We booked there - we are in the Manor Room which is the bigger of the two. We think the food is delicious and the grounds are breath-taking. We booked a June wedding to take advantage of the grounds and are having our ceremony there as well. I loved it. The Swan Club is pretty too - the grounds are nice. But I agree wtih missmmpr - it needs a facelift. However, my friend had her wedding there and it was wonderful. It is less expensive then the WM - if cost is a concern. The George Washington Manor - I belive is smaller - I'm not sure if you are having a big affair or a smaller one. I don't know much else about it. Good LUck!

Reviews of all three

I went to a wedding there in the fall. If you are having a smaller wedding I think it would be great. My friend probably had about 130 and the room was a little crowded (she expected to have less guests). The food was really good and so was the service. Lobster first course! As far as I know she had no complaints. I also went to a shower there and it was good. Again, the only problem was the room was a little crowded. I think the Swan Club is beautiful outside but I thought we would have too many people for the rooms. I went there when they were setting up for an event and I noticed they were covering tables with tablecloths and using them as the bar! I didn't like that. Also they wouldn't stray from the assigned menu for the cocktail hour..they basically said the reason was b/c they have a bunch of affairs going on at once. Really didn't like that. I never went to an affair there. I know a couple of people that got married at Westbury Manor and loved it. I really liked this place. It is very pretty. The lobby can get crowded b/c mor ethan one event is going on. My aunt had some problems with the service (food was cold) but it could have just been a bad day. Everyone else had a good experience.
