Re: License SIgning?
you weren't supposed to sign that just yet - it's supposed to be signed on the day of, right above the witness' and the officiant. i don't know if it's a big deal or not...but that's where you are supposed to sign - area marked 'to be completed by officiant'

Re: License SIgning?
I would definitely call the town hall or the officiant and inquire about this...it may not be a big deal, but I would confirm it anyway.

You weren't supposed to sign till the day of your rehersal because it has to be witnessed.

Re: License SIgning?
This was on the NYS site about obtaining a marriage license:
A couple who intends to be married in New York State must apply in person for a marriage license to any town or city clerk in the state. The application for a license must be signed by both the bride and groom in the presence of the town or city clerk. A representative cannot apply for the license on behalf of the bride or groom. This applies even if the representative has been given the Power of Attorney. Notarized marriage license affidavits signed by the bride or groom cannot be substituted for their personal appearane.
If they need me to sign it again, then I'll sign it somewhere on the sheet but we were told by the clerk at the Town Hall to sign it, so that's what we did. Try not to worry about it, I'm sure it will be fine.

Re: License SIgning?
We didn't sign it at City Hall, we were told we couldn't. We signed it the night of our RD along with our 2 witnesses (BM & MOH) after we were married the officiant who married us signed it and mailed it out.

Same here. Only our officiant and the witnesses signed it the day of our wedding. We got our marriage certificate with no problems whatsoever.
