Life is too short for ....

Life is too short for ....

unnessary drama.

With all the things going on right now.. problems within my own family and problems with FH's mom's family... I am completely overwhelmed. I don't think at this point I can enjoy planning.. sad to say but I was just told that FH's grandma who is 75 and battling lung cancer going through chemo treamtents.. may have weeks to live.
Her platelets are down immensley.. and she now has small cell lung cancer and is spreading to her brain. Continued radiation will make her live longer.. but she will be in a vegetable state. At this point there is nothing the doctors can do for her. With 3 months left to go until this wedding I just don't feel into it. I can imagine what we will be going through if she passes away before then.

His grandma's health is at stake now and this is our priority right now. As it should be. I have an Aunt who is dying and who knows how much longer she has..I can't take much more really...
I have to vent here.. because I am not the type of person to vent my problems on the physical people in my life and although I have never met any one of you.. I feel comfort here...Sorry... for the sad post. I truly am. Thank you for letting me vent.

Sincerely..
in tears
V

Oh hunny...
As much as this time in your life hurts, remember that those who are sick will be in a better place in time, and those that are close to you will be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry or lean on. My heart goes out to you and if you need to talk - FM me!

I am so sorry that you have all of that going on right now. I can sympathize a little with you, FH's grandmother's health is failing quickly, too.
I hope everything gets better for you. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Vent all you like. That is why we are here.

It seems like only yesterday, but it was only one year ago when we lost my father after a 9 month hospital stay. DH and I became engaged only 3 months before he passed. While my father had been ill, my mother had open heart surgery and my family had all we thought we could take when we thought we could lose them both at the same time. Seven weeks before the wedding, my mother fell and broke two vertebrae in her back and there was questioning if she would be able to attend the wedding at all.

Through these months of difficulty, the LIW community was (and to this day continues to be) supportive in my efforts to keep sane. I shared many a post on how sad I was praying that I didnt bring anyone's happy time of weddding bliss down. But, as only LIW brides can, they gave many virtual hugs, prayers and thoughts that carried me through the toughest time in my life. Believe in the kindness of 'strangers.' I don't know how I would have made it through without LIW.

As far as your family is concerned... believe me when I speak from experience when I say that life does go on. Consider your wedding as a celebration of life and its wonderful gifts. Carry on the legacies of those ill and those lost. In my culture, regardless of life's tragedies, the happiness outweighs the sadness and weddings go on as planned. I think of my wedding day without my father and I get teary but then I remember how his presence was there and how disappointed he would have been had we changed our plans to mourn. He was there with us. I got through the day knowing how proud he would have been - just as your family (and your DH) will be there for you.

We will be here for you and you may FM me whenever you feel the need.

oh sweetie!!!!!!!!!!!!

we're all here for you no matter what happens! I know how you are feeling. FH went through this a month ago when he lost his grandmother to cancer.

Just make sure to let them know you love them and support them in any decisions that they decide to take. And give your FH extra hugs to know you're there to help him and support him and love him!

I'm so sorry for everything you're going through right now! Just wanted to say that you will be in my prayers... right now as hard as it seems, you need to hold you're head high & know that you will come out of all this a stronger person. Any trial you go through will always help mold you into the person you are meant to be. we are all here for you!

V - I am sorry to hear what is happening, it is truly sad.

My nonno passed away 3months before my cousins wedding, none of us were into the wedding when the time came along, but the reception was awesome, we had a great time.and the wedding ended up being exactly what we needed to move on with our lives and remember the good things about life.
