LIFE VENT!

This is supposed to be a feel good month - holiday's are near, Xmas music is playing, we get to see my family soon when we travel upstate, I should be decorating and baking cookies like I always do, and I should be excited about the GTG, but yet, I just wish this holiday would skip me over (us, actually cause DH is feeling it too!).

The icing on the cake came yesterday ....

1. We lost 2 bids on homes in the last 3 weeks.
2. We fired our R/E agent
3. We're exhausted
4. and the icing, you may ask - our Apt. Complex/Community contacted us by mail yesterday and informed us that we have until Dec 30 '06 - 3 F*CKING WEEKS - to state to them if we plan to stay for another year or two. And the rent has shot up an extra $200 a month now! If we don't let them know by Dec 30, they're listing our apt. as available for tours (over the next 3 months) and rental when our lease is up March 25.

Can life get any worse for us right now?

Do you have an alternative 'place' for when the rent ends? Even if just temporary.

OMG, betsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just typing you an FM... I am SO SORRY that this is going on, but (I KNOW its not what you want to hear...) EVERYTHING happens for a reason!! I am SURE this is just going on because the perfect house for you is just not for sale right now!

I know how you feel about the holidays, I haven't had much spirit so far, either.

Betsy, I would contact the leasing company and ask if they can make some kind of exception, like a 6 month lease or a month to month lease. That way it will take some of the pressure off you right now. The worst that can happen is they say no, it can't hurt to ask!

I'm so sorry to hear about your apartment complex wanting notice so soon, we had that too which put us in a bind to find a house quick, luckily it worked out for us.

Yeah, I called them this morning, and asked why they needed to know in 3 weeks when the lease is up in 3 months (90 days), and they said it's there policy to post available units within 60 days, but that still would give us until Jan. I said. They said they add on an extra 30 days for themselves, but said they could extend our response time to the first week in Jan. if need be.

As for the extension to the lease - we'd lose our deposit, have to pay $600 extra a month on our rent bill!

OMG....that is horrible. This is supposed to be a happy time...the stress should be behind you. I am so sorry you are going through this!!!
