I plan on using LED lighting which change colors and also having candles as part of my floral CP. How much do you want to spend. LED's are about 50-55 a fixture and for my hall i need 25.

We did it.. I loved the way it looked although the tables were supposed to be under lit in white and NOT pink. I liked the way the room looked minus the tables.
We also had them do our dais as well.

We did kinetic uplighting all around the ballroom, and had candles as well throughout the ballroom, ch room and foyer etc. We also did some hurricanes with orchids and floating candles. I definitely think it makes a huge difference if you have uplighting as well well as tealights/votives, etc. Good luck!

I can only answer for myself, but I did not do pinspot lighting. Only kinetic uplighting.

Same here. Only lighting around the room, a gobo on the dance floor, the dais and some lighting outside where the lounge pieces were.
I didnt do pinspot lighting (although I shoudl have)
because I was quoted $100.00 per light and I had 25 tables = $2,500. Which I knew was priced way to high. It was a last minute suggestion... like 4 days before the wedding

The Gobo is the 'name in lights' on the dance floor. The pinspot lighting is basically spotlights on each of your cp's/tables in the room. They cost a lot because they have to be set up on tracks usually and take time and effort to set up. We didn't do them and I didn't really want them. The uplighting I paid $720 for 12 kinetic (color changing) uplights. That's a normal-slightly high price. I've seen people quoted a lot more and a bit less. I got my uplighting, gobo, and dance floor/club lights from my DJ. A lot of florists do uplighting too.

The gel LED's are less money but not as nice as the kinetic ones. Even if you have kinetic and keep it all one color it still looks nicer. KerriJohnS did kinetic and kept the lights all blue and it was amazing. I personally like how the kinetic lights look over the gel lights.

Re: Lighting

I am doing LED kinetic lighting that is being provided by my DJ. I am having a small wedding so they said 4 of the LED lights is enough for the room I have. They originally cost $100 a piece, but I am getting them for 50% off.

They look something similar to this:

For you ladies who did uplighting, is that the only lighting you had, or did the DJ also provide his typical lighting (or intelligent lighting). I'm having candle centerpieces and I'm thinking of getting uplighting instead of the intelligent lighting from the DJ, but I don't want it to be too dark.

Mines in a small room so I'm only getting uplighting and the lighting the room has whichi s a glass chandelier I believe. He told me for a smaller room you don't need other lighting.
