I loved uplighting since the first time I saw it and when I told my DJ, I guess I didn't explain it right...I said I wanted the lighting for ambiance and he said the vertical intelligent lights could rotate 360 degrees and shine where ever I wanted. Well, I now have done some research and realize that I want uplighting which they call color kinetics. They are saying that will be an extra $1,200! So, my question is if you have uplighting did you have other lights to vertical or on a truss? If so, did it have a 'clubby' look- not that its a bad thing- I just want it to look good, but I don't like the clubby look. Thanks!

Re: Lighting Help
i FMed u, and as far as the club look, the color kinetics (which is what they called the uplighting at my place also) can be VERY clubby if u have them do it where the colors change/pulse to the music's beat....i wont be having that....u can also have it just stay one color, to give the room the 'ambiance' u are referring to, or u can have the colors change at a moderate pace throughout the night...i know that LI Sound said we decide what they are going to do...they will control it however we want it to be, cuz my mom keeps threatening me that it better not look like a night club!!! LOL

Re: Lighting Help
I've been to wedding where the lights were on a truss..and it did look kind of clubby. IMO it depends on your taste for it. Either it has many colors going in many directions or plain white bouncing to the sound of the music. I found this site for uplighting. http://www.ulsnyc.com/ I believe they have packages. Also, you can check out eventrixproductions.com

Re: Lighting Help
ours was very tasteful. they changed colors maybe every 8-10 min. They were spaced every 8 ft around the room - pics in album. it totally transformed the room, lots of compliments on it.
