I love the look of uplighting, but FH and I decided we didn't want the extra expense... If we had the extra $ for it, we would definitely go for it.

same here,,,plus my hall has windows and I would have to drape the windows and then the waterview is gone...

My RH is providing the uplighting. It only makes sense to do it in the evening or if your reception area is windowless.

I love LED lighting and really want it. I got a quote for 1k from NY lounge decor for 25-30 led lighting fixtures. Bravura DJ quoted me for 700$ for LED plus band lighting.

We are considering it, since you are also a de Seversky bride - how do you think it would look in the room?
We saw video of a wedding there and the room looked really dark, so we thought that would brighten it up, but I don't want to take away from the beauty of the room.

Have you seen any pics of uplighting used there?

What room are you having the dancing in? We are having our dancing in the greenhouse room (at least thats what I call it lol)....the one with the windows also on the celing that leads out to the patio, so we didn't think there was really any room for the uplighting as it would only be on one wall. We didnt want any sort of uplighting to take away from the beauty of the place. So - between that, and the fact that we decided to not spend the extra expense - we decided not to go through with it. If you are having the dancing in the ballroom - I think it might look nice on the dark walls of the room though...as you are right, it is dark. Maybe if you kept the uplighting colors to more neutral tones (like not pink?)...?

Yeah you definitely wouldn't need it in the atrium room. We are having everything (except CH) in the ballroom. We were considering doing amber, or a burgundy or midnight blue -def not pink!

I think it would look really nice

Uplighting was not in my budget, but I really really wanted because the room transforms. The room I booked in Swan Club is not a huge room, so I figured I give it a shot and try to squeeze it in the budget. I was quoted $600 for 7 lights at a bridal showcase, with a $100 discount, lets just say ' that's not what I want to pay' (any Russell Peters fans out there...lol). Anyway, I was determined and eventually found a compnay willing to do 12 lights for $350! Huge difference! I saw the lights and they are perfect!
