Mine is capped at that too, and I think I'll just be needing a little nip and tuck.

Mine is capped at around $150 (I think) only because the dress is coming to me made to my height with my shoes on (too much beading to hem it). I think that with a different gown my cap would have been about $250.

i will only be needing it hemmed and bustled. it fits perfectly around the top (it's a sample so i know it fits).

295 is crazy!!

My cap was $185 from Renates in Lindenhurst, They gave me a credit of $100 though because my dress needed to be ordered at an exact length due to the swavorzski crystal at the bottom. Good luck!

I honestly dont remember what mine was capped at! But it only cost about $100for everything which I thought was reasonable.
Remember just because its capped at a certain point does not mean you are going to have to pay that much! I think i have the paperwork at home with the prices for the different altertions! I will look later and let you know!

ETA: In my experience the seamstress are great at Lillettes and so worth the extra money. My friend went somewhere else and the whole night the straps on her dress kept falling down because it wasnt altered properly. And on of her BM the place we went for our dresses, tehy attached the beaded strap wrong so it was twisted the whole time!

I am a Lilette's bride - I just checked my receipt and yes, i have a $295 'cap' too. Plus, the woman wrote $15 per button for bustle.

Now, I know I'll want some things changed about the dress - I am already having them cut off the eyelash trim on the lace (which they marked as $100) before i get it. So basically, I have $195 more in alterations left.

Does that mean that they'll do everything else that I want/need done for $195?? Sorry, never really got the defintion of 'cap' explained to me there!

My SIL just ordered hers from Lilette's and that was what her alterations were capped at also. I don't remember what mine were.

mine are capped at $250, i think the bustle is winding up costing me around $75. honestly it sounds like alot but when i saw all the beading that would have to be taken off and put back on i thought the price was ok

Re: Lilette's brides--please help!

my receipt says something about bustle buttons and strings all being like 12 or 15 $$ extra.

i'm only going to need it hemmed probably. they'll need to take off the 'ribbon' of beads at the bottom and then sew it back on at the end. besides that, the dress fits pretty well. i just don't want to get stuck with $295 alterations on a $500 dress.

question---do the bustle buttons add additional money to alterations? or are they a part of the $295? i just wonder why they wrote the price of the buttons on the receipt.

the bustle is not included in the price of alterations

I've always heard that Lillette's was so much more reasonable than other bridal salons in terms of price. I particularly found it to be true when I bought my dress. I guess they gotta make up for it somehow - so that's probably where they come in with the large cap on alterations!

Thankfully, I think I'll have just enough work to get done on my dress that I should get my money's worth!!!

Doesn't capped mean that you can't pay more than that? If you only need a hem and a bustle then you probably won't have to pay the full amount. My gown is hollow to hem but I know it will have to be taken in so I'm preparing to pay the full amount. You could probaby take it else where to have it altered if you really wanted to (eventhough I know that's not the point) It's crazy how much more money the dress ends up costing above the actual ticket price!
