Re: Lillette's
i got mine there also and highly recommend them. definitely make an appointment though - i sensed that they get a little fustrated when girls walk in and just want to try on dresses. Lydia is/was my consultant. SHe is very sweet and will make you try on tons of dresses and styles to make sure that you are comfortable with your decision. Plus, the dresses are so reasonably priced, at least that's been my experience

I did not have a good experience with them- My mother and I went there to look at FG, BM and a dress for her and their prices were NOT reasonable at all!!!! I allready had the BM dresses picked out but I wanted to see if I can get a better price elsewhere especially since I still had more business to give a shop- well their price for the BM dress was $50 more than where I originally found them at Bridal Reflections ( 175) the FG dresses they wanted to charge 225 a pop ( I have 4 girls) and my Moms dress 675- which they couldnt even give us a color swatch that the dress came in - no sample and when they called manufacterer- or whoever they called in front of us said they just said its pinky pink- we were like ok what the heck is pinky pink- and if we ordered it NO REFUNDS- ok that I understand but you are going to sell us a dress we have no idea what the color is????????? so we walked out- went up the blocks off of atlantic to Blanchees in East Rockaway, the BM dresses were 127, FG 110 and my moms dress 500 and ALL the exact same dresses!!!! I dont rec them at all!!!!

girlygrl- sorry you had a bad experience
I actually had a great experience there. Christina was awesome! I owe finding my dress all to her!
I don't know about alterations, though. Got them somewhere else. Some of the beading was falling off the dress when it came in to lillette's, though, and the ladies were able to fix it up so it was perfect! I found bridal gown prices were reasonable.

Re: Lillette's
I have posted many times about Lillettes! I simply couldnt have been happier with the service! Especially the alterations! My wedding dress was PERFECT! When I wasnt sure what type of bustle, the seamstress pinned my dress like 5 different times so I could get an idea for how each type of bustle would look!
I have also gotten other dresses there in the past, as a BM and for my prom! When I was a BM, I came home from college 3 days before teh wedding 10 lbs lighter! They did an amazing job a day before the wedding redoing all the work for me!
Good Luck!

I am having trouble with them about alterations with my BMs. I did not get my dress there though. They are sharging full price alterations ($70) for minimal work!!!
I will be there on Saturday, so if you go, and see a curly-haired girl screaming at them with 3 BMs, that's me!!!!

Re: Lillette's
as a plus-size bride, I did not have a good experience with my sales woman. She sorta told me what dress I should wear and had issues with me trying on dresses that *I* liked. Maybe she just had an off day or whatever, because I had a good previous experience there about 8 years earlier...but this time when I went, it really turned me off and I left.

I was a bridesmaid and got a dress there last year and the seamstresses were beyond nasty. I totally agree that they over charge on alterations for doing practically no work.
However, I tried bridal gowns on there last winter and the women who helped me couldnt have been nicer. I have mixed feelings about Lilettes.

Thanks me too, I thought for sure I would have had a better experience but everything worked out.

Re: Lillette's
They seemed very nice, however their price for my dress was $200 over what other stores wanted. So I'd say use them if money is no object, but if money is a concern I'd go elsewhere.

Re: Lillette's
i was in a wedding this year and the seamstresses there are beyond horrible. they told me i lost weight b/c they didn't cut the dress enough. my sister, the bride, was ready to kill them and told me not to use them for my dress. i made an appt anyway and was completly lied to and that turned me off about htem.
anyhoo, i found my dress at burton's and could not be happier

Re: Lillette's
If you go there, ask for Christina. I love her. There are others there that I haven't been the happiest about, but overall, not much difference between them and the 10 other salons I went to.
I got a good deal on my dress (believe me, I looked) but I completely found it on my own on their racks and knew that I liked it because it's a knock-off of another gown.
I believe I am using them for BM dresses and I think their prices are on par, pretty much, with other bridal salons on the Island.
I personally will have my alterations done there, but will warn my girls (esp. the skinny ones who just need a hem) to be wary and take the dresses somewhere else. I also have a LOT of OOT BM's so they most likely will go somewhere else anyway.
So far, ok.

I tried on dresses there & Gerri was very helpful. She spent a lot of time with me & answered my questions. I did find them to be a bit higher than other shops though.
