Lillette's Brides...question about buying dress and alterations

I have found THE dress. Now, when buying, do I have any leway with thte price? Is it taboo to barder the price of the dress? What are their prices for alterations? Do they cap the cost of alterations??

Thanks!!!

I don't know the rules with the price bardering but I do believe there is a cap. Let me know what you find out. I also found my dress there but have not ordered it yet. Good luck!

I'm not sure if you can barter the price of the dress...you can try! I paid 400 dollars for the alterations of the dress. I believe they don't go over 400....which is ridiculous to beging with!

They are on Old Walt Whitman Road in Melville. Yes, my BMs ordered their dresses from Burtons too

i also found my dress elsewhere and ordered through burtons for less. I also ordered my BM's and FG dress from them. It is a small no frills kind of shop but they two women who work there, carol and karen, are extremely sweet and great to work with.

ETA: they cap their alterations at less than other shops. i forget the actual amount.

The cap on the alterations is $295. I think for bustling it is $15 per loop and $20 per button (or maybe the other way around).

i think they capped my alterations at $250 plus the bustle and loops. IMO the girl i am working with there is great, so when i found THE dress i didn't want to bother going anywhere else, JMO

I think mine was the same! But I needed almost no alterations so I think I only paid about $150 with the bustle. IMO Lillettes is so WORTH the extra price because with alterations they totally know what they are doing and go the extra mile. when I got my gown they were amazing, everything was so perfect! and years ago (same seamstress though) I got a BM gown there! Wel I got back from college teh day before teh wedding to find out the dress didnt fit (totally my fault I lost 10+ pounds in 2 months) and they basically remade teh dress for me in like 1 hour! They were great!
