I went to Lillette's on Friday & will be going on Monday w/ my mom & bm and I'm down to 2 dresses for mine. I just wanted to know where they stand in relation to price on dresses for mine & the girls in relation to other places.
I asked them straight out if they would match another salon and she told me 'we don't compete' but we give the girls 10% off if you order here & we'll give you a $50. credit.
What has your experience been?
Otherwise we loved them...they were helpful, knowledgeable and had a wonderful selection.

Re: Lillette's Prices
I really don't know pricewise, but I'll put in my .02 anyway. I've heard such wnderful things about Lillettes, and some bad things about a lot of places that do boast they have the lowest price or they'll beat any price, etc etc. I think getting the service level you want abd being comfortable are probably worth it. Also, if you get a lower price quote it doens't hurt to go to Lillettes and say 'Well, such and such salon has it for $50 less, and I'd like to buy it from you since you've been so helpful. but I really have to go where the price is right' and see if they'll work something out with you. Maybe they'll match the price anyway, or give you a % off on your veil and tiara. You never know. Everything is negotiable. I just bought a car, and when i was calling dealerships I spoke with one person and told him 'such and such dealerhsip has it for $500 less' and he told me to 'go buy it there then!' (Ps: this guy has since been fired). But another time I sat with a salesman for over an hour he was really nice, etc etc and I knew him from previously, but I found a dealership who would sell it for $600 less, so I called him back and I said 'I want to thank you for all of your help and I'd really like to buy the car from you, but here's the the thing, another dealership said they'd give it to me for $X. I'd like to buy it from you, but $X is a lot of money' I made it seem like I was SOOO conflicted about it and he totally bit. He gave me the 'i'm not supposed to go that low' thing, but then he said he'd beat THAT price by $100. So I got $700 off just by doing my research and being sweet. It can work for you too! If they want to sell a product, they'll sell the product. If you throw in how you told all your friends and everyone on LIW how great their service was, that can work too. I find it's a NICE way of negotiating, rather than saying 'i'm just not going to pay more than $800!' if you act nice, you get a nicer reaction!

Re: Lillette's Prices
I've heard such good things about Gerry from lilettes from frineds who have gotten married and LIW girls. Here's a current 06 post:
Good question! The post the Jenn included is mine - I loved Gerry! I think I'm going to call there on Monay, since I just found my same dress on bridesave.com for about $160 less - - - - and Bridesave is an authorized dealer of Maggie Sottero (my gown). I wonder how they will respond...
My parting comments to Gerry were that I really hoped she would be the best price, because I do want to buy there. But in the scheme of things - I have to save money where I can...

Re: Lillette's Prices
Kathy at Lilette's was the most helpful and honest person I dealt with during my dress search. I can't say enough about her. And the prices were much better than those I saw on the same exact dresses at Adrienne's and Bridal Reflections. I didn't end up buying my dress at Lilette's b/c I fell in love with a dress by a designer that they dont carry, but a friend of mine from work did and she was thrilled with their service all the way through her fittings.
Good luck!

Re: Lillette's Prices
I think you should do what you feel comfortable with. If you would feel better pricing around go for it! Personally, I didn't look around to find my dress cheaper. ym dress fell into the pricerange I was looking for and that was enough for me. I felt very comfortable at Lillette's and after trying a few shops, that was very important to me.

Re: Lillette's Prices
I got my dress at Lillettes and have had the BEST experience. We worked with Carol and although I know for a fact that I could have gotten my gown for approximately $200 less somewhere else, I still am happy with my decision to get my dress there.
I even brought my Mom back for her dress there and they were NOTHING but accommodating that day as well.
I would rather pay a little more for a pleasant experience ANY DAY! Good luck!!!

I know some places won't match online sales so I hope it works out for you.

Re: Lillette's Prices
I bought my dress at Lillette's and paid about $300 less that I saw it elsewhere. Also, several of my friends and their sisters got their dresses there and had the same experiences. In terms of price, I do believe they are very comparable - if not, the lowest!

Re: Lillette's Prices
I cant speak about prices I didnt shop around once I found MY dress! However, IMO you wont do better than Lillettes in terms of service and quality! I have gotten 3 dresses from them, one being my wedding dress! 8 Years ago when I was a freshman in college my brother got married and I lost ALOT of weight from fitting 1 to the day I picked it up. Well I come home 2 days before the wedding and the dress is huge on me (my fault obviously) the seamstress did a great job of making it perfect in a VERY short time! With my wedding dress the seamstress was amazing! She was patient with me and really helpful! When I didnt know what type of bustle I wanted she pined my dress up like 6 times in different styles so I could decide! I would go there again in a heartbeat!

Re: Lillette's Prices
Lillette's is great - I got my dress there, so did my SIL, and I have gotten 2 or 3 BM dresses there. My Mom's BMs got their dresses there 35 years ago, too!
Anyway, I can't speak to their prices because I didn't shop around for my dress, but the service there is amazing and the seamstresses work magic. You can't go wrong there!
