Re: Limo Accident
i don't think so - I checked the 05 list as soon as I heard about it, and no one was listed at the Crescent Beach Club that night.
Sooooo sad - it's so unfortunate, because it was SO PREVENTABLE.

My mother knew the girl's grandmother. I think both families are from Long Beach.

I know pretty much everyone involved - from both bride and groom's side. It's a horrendous, unbelievable tragedy and I hope the driver pays for the rest of his life.

mentally, yes...he will, but its not murder (manslaughter). i hate these drunk driving laws... they need to improved drastically like taking away there license for X amount of years. and harsher jail sentences.

Re: Limo Accident
He should be locked away for the rest of his life and his jail cell should be wallpapered with the picture of that poor little girl.
Was he even injured?

Re: Limo Accident
This happened the day after my daughters wedding, and she had her FG and RB in her limo with her. As soon as the kids got in the car they looked for seat belts. Of course there aren't any in a limo. I'm sure that contributed to the death of the little girl.

Re: Limo Accident
i know they call it vehicular manslaughter - meaning it was unintentional, but how do you drink and drive and expect nothing to happen!! it should be murder!! that poor family, he turned what was such a beautiful day into a horrible one. i think he is only getting 40 years for the crime. should be life

I actually checked to make sure that the limo my son will be in has seat belts to hook up his car seat....I remember hearing that Princess Dianna may have lived if she was wearing a seat belt...but at that speed who knows.
I had 2 cousins killed my a drunk driver...and the SOB who killed them had his licensed revoked...what the He!! is that? He should have been convicted of murder.
I feel so bad for the family of the FG and the Limo driver....its so unfair what happened to them.
We need sticter DWI and DUI laws...if they were tougher I think people may thin ktwice about driving.

Re: Limo Accident
I just dont understand why they are not convicted of murder. He ia an adult and obviously knew not to drink and drive. He made a conscious decision to disobey the law and put others at risk!!! Murder is murder IMO

It disgusts me that it's not considered murder and that he's most likely not going to go to prison for life.

Re: Limo Accident
I think the driver should pay with his life!
This makes me so upset! I can't even imagine the pain and hurt that family is going threw! I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!
My FI was called in on overtime to watch prisoners in the hospital that night but he wasn't able to.
Turns out he would have been watching the driver
He's so glad he missed that call, He would have been so upset if he had to see that guy in person!

Re: Limo Accident
The drunk driver worked in FH's office. When he saw the newspaper he couldn't believe it. I agree with you ladies that he should pay with his life or spend the rest of his life in jail but unfortantely that is not how our system works. I guess there is a difference between this and planning to commit a murder. Either way I hope he gets the maximum.
