do we still have to tip the driver when we are already paying $220 in a gratuity? I say no $220 is a lot what do you think?

you are not 'supposed to' but these are working people who work hard and we ended up giving them each another $25-50

some companys dont give the gratuity to the driver at all they get a flat fee for the day or trip. i always give them extra if they dont a good job

I asked the owner of my limo company and he said that the 20% really was the tip and that I shouldn't tip on top of that...

This is what I would do. Ask the company where the tip goes.

My limo company said that the 20% goes to the drives and that is their tip and we didn't have to tip any more than that. I know a lot of companies throw in a ride to the airport for the HM and he said that we have to tip that person...that its not included in the 20%.

my limo company told me from the start that the tip is included.... they said you DO NOT have to tip on the spot
if it says gratuity included then tip is included

I think you ahould ask the company as well as the drivers. I know a lot of Limo Companies that the drivers do not get the tip and only get a set pay for the trip. It doesnt hurt to ask.

If the gratuity is included - why would you tip again? It is a 20% gratuity on top of an incredibly inflated price so I think it is obscene to tip again - even if they provide excellent service. A 20% tip paid in advance should result in excellent service.
When you go to a restaurant in a large group and the 18% gratuity is included - do you tip more?
I skipped limos - thought they were so overpriced and just didn't like any of the people I met with. Felt they were all shady and overcharging us because it was a wedding

Our limo company told us that it is customary to tip the drivers on the wedding day. I think that if they expect you to tip the drivers in cash on the wedding day, they should stop adding the 20% gratuity to the bill!!!!!! Where is that money going if you still need to tip the drivers?!?!? We ended up tipping the drivers again anyway so I wonder how much they ended up with?

I know the Limo company I deal with always puts the 20% gratutity on their bills but I tell them that I am tipping their driver separate. They then take that 20% off the bill....It is your discretion on how much tip to give bc it all depends on their service for that day. If you want, you can not give him anything that day bc you are already paying the 20%.

i felt bad not tipping the day of the wedding, even though I know it was including in the contract so we did. I think we gave them both an extra $20.

I only tipped one driver, b/c he did a fantastic job....I did not tip my bridal limo driver, b/c h was having obvious problems handling the car & almost drove off the road.

My uncle works for a limo company and he does not see an ounce of that gratuity.

our gratuity is included as well and as of right now, we do not plan on tipping on top of that- unless we go over the time and the guy lets it go!
