LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
Need advice....our ceremony and reception are at the same lcoation...trying to book limo's and their balking...we only need pick up and drop off, all of our pics will be done there...I'm definetely not interested in tooling around LI in the middle of the summer in traffic!
Need limo for: Stretch Nav for Bacchelor/ette Night in NYC Pick up/drop off of Bride at home to CH Pick up/drop off of FI to CH Pick up/drop off B&G from CH to home Pick up/drop off day after to airport Pick up/drop off from airport to home
The limo companies would like us to rent all day, (we're like for what) or a 3 hr min...it's 1 hr tops from my home to the CH in traffic at best plus we want to do a rolls, mercedes, or jag day of ceremony, airport runs are going to be basic limos, and the Navigator is for our bachelor/ette night in the city....
Sorry this is long....does anyone have suggestions, or companies, or is anyone else even in the same dilemma?

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
I got a few quotes for limos to pick-up and drop off (from Holbrook to Ronkonkoma...10 minutes tops, if you have to stop for every light!). They ranged from $140-$175 for a basic 8-10 passenger limo. I decided to skip it all together...I could not spend $200 (including tip) to take me 5 miles. I could use that money for the HM. My daddy will drive me there

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
I was wondering the same thing. Both my ceremony and reception as well as my pictures will be done at the hall. We are about 35 minutes from the halll, but most limo companies say min 3 hours. It' seems like such a waste when I could just hire them for 1 hour and that would be enough.

I am also in the same boat. Last night we were figuring out the limo ride and it seemed to be a bit confusing but I do not want my parents or his parents to worry about driving home but it seems ridiculous to pay $$ for a 3 hr. limo when you only need it for a drop off and possibly a p/u for me. Do you think it is wrong if I ask the parties to drive to the reception hall since we are getting married their too? It's just weird asking people who are in your wedding party to drive themselves. How will my FH get there? Ugh...So confusing....

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
All I can say is spending so much money on my wedding what is another $1000 to make my night complete I REFUSE to have my parents drive me... I want my HUMMER!!! I am going to my wedding in a limo so my mom said well why do we have to pay for a limo for everyone for a few minute drive but when i said that to one of my bridesmaid, there was not a great reaction.... i would never make my party drive to the wedding

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
I am getting there 2 hours early to get dressed, so I am not going to bother with the limo. We'll just drive back to the hotel that night I suppose. Not very romantic, but it seems like a waste of money to me!

Wow, what a lot of different responses and concerns. I thought the limo thing would of been an open and shut case, but now that I am figuring out the semantics it becomes a dilemma, not really, but I am sure you guys know what I mean. I too am getting ready at the reception hall (putting on my dress). Hair appts. will be done for all prior and the pictures will be done at the hall. I do not have a place for all the girls to meet to get p/u together in a limo. My FH is VERY flexible. My true concern, since we are having an afternoon wedding is getting to the hotel that everyone will be staying at. Wondering if a shuttle from the hotel would work. I WOULD LOVE to be escorted in a limo and so would the parties but the p/u place is hard to decide. Again, another hmmm.....

I had the same problem but then I'm making a stop to take pictures for about an hour before i head to my ceremony/reception site. When I consided going straight to the ceremony from the hotel we are all getting ready at (20 minutes away) I talked to Manny at Royalty. He would do a pick/drop for I thik $200, but it was an 8 or 10 person limo.

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
as of now i am forgoing limos, i wanted town cars but quick quotes yielded lots of $$$$ as well. i do need to figure out some form of transportation, but am thinking that $$$$ for limos would be better spent on something else in our case...

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
I got a quote of $95 from Royal Luxury Limos for about a 15 minute drive, 6 passenger limo. I've gotten other quotes of about $100-$115. I found these companies on www.limos.com, but I haven't heard of any of them, and someone on here warned me away from Top of The World Limos.
But I think a short trip is doable for abour $120.
I think we're just gonna take cabs and my MOH will drive me in the rented Towncar. it's a 15-20 minute ride, and my budget is really tight.

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
We are alos having our ceremony & reception at the same place. We decided not to even bother with getting limos. My BP & I can get to the site at anytime we want since we booked it for the entire day and I figured no one will even see the limo so why bother, plus its a good way to save $

That's nuts, I saw several packages with Hummers (because we're interested in them too) $850 for 3 hours..That's so unfair Good Luck!

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
Sir Oilver gave us a fantastic quote. But we booked them 2 years ago so many prices have went up since then. But we got a pick up drop off price. I also could walk to the catering hall and thought the price they gave me was reasonable. They were recommended from a friend of mine who also used them.

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
I just called Sir Oliver - $175 for a 10 passenger limo, $210 with tip. I think this is a dead deal for me. I can pay $40 for 2 cabs.

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
well we decided to take all our photos before the wedding so we were able to justify the limos because our photographer wants all kinds of location shots - so tooling around in the limos before the wedding made it worth it are you taking pics beforehand?

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
Yeah, but on the grounds. No, I would do up to $100, but over that and it gets silly.

Re: LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place
then i agree it isnt worth it to just go there to take pictures - we are going to 3 different locations according to our photographer so it just made sense to get the limos had to have beach photos since we live so close
