LIMO Question: For those having ceremony & reception same place

Original post by charlotte227

Need advice....our ceremony and reception are at the same lcoation...trying to book limo's and their balking...we only need pick up and drop off, all of our pics will be done there...I'm definetely not interested in tooling around LI in the middle of the summer in traffic!

Need limo for:
Stretch Nav for Bacchelor/ette Night in NYC
Pick up/drop off of Bride at home to CH
Pick up/drop off of FI to CH
Pick up/drop off B&G from CH to home
Pick up/drop off day after to airport
Pick up/drop off from airport to home

The limo companies would like us to rent all day, (we're like for what) or a 3 hr min...it's 1 hr tops from my home to the CH in traffic at best plus we want to do a rolls, mercedes, or jag day of ceremony, airport runs are going to be basic limos, and the Navigator is for our bachelor/ette night in the city....

Sorry this is long....does anyone have suggestions, or companies, or is anyone else even in the same dilemma?

I'm so not worrying about the GMs. I just don't think they'd care that much.

then i agree it isnt worth it to just go there to take pictures - we are going to 3 different locations according to our photographer so it just made sense to get the limos
had to have beach photos since we live so close

oakslady....is the time on your profile correct? 12:30 is your ceremony? If so...what time are you starting to take pictures? We already have to be up at 5 to start getting our hair/makeup done at 6...photographer is coming at 9:15, but only to my mom's house for us girls. I can't imagine starting earlier????

UPDATE LADIES:

So far here is what I found out....

1. you need a limo because of your dress, unless you dress and re-dress (take-off) at the CH

2. trying to use a cab or parent's vehicle may not suffice, remember guests that may show up with gifts (even if you registered) - you'll need all of your relatives packing your items in many cars and dropping it off at your home - some items will get lost or stolen

3. the limo company that is doing your airport runs & bachelor/bachelorette parties can do pick up and drop off for your wedding day also - try to make your own package if you give the company more biz they'll negotiate better with you

4. if you use the limos just for pick up drop off it will not include the runner, champagne etc., however it will have a stocked bar if you must drink

I think if you price this way it may save you we're talking to companies now...good luck

PS - sorry for the reality check...I know there are so many other small details to worry about, but if we keep on this board we'll figure it out

yes the time is correct -our hair and makeup ladies will be with us at 5 am and the photographer will arrive at 830 to start pictures with the gals - they guys will arrive for pictures with the limo at 915 and we are off to get it all done in 3 hours hopefully.. my photographer says that is more than enough time to get the majority of the posed shots done - we will take a few posed ones with the rings on after the ceremony - but the rest will all be photojournalism shots of the reception

We are not using a limo --we just bought a new suv w/ 3 row seating and that will work for us, and my BP is happy there are no limos, they want to drive there with their spouses---so it actually works out great for us.

best yet I want an H2 Hummer!!!
$1000 for 1 hour

Just something to ponder regarding the Hummer Limo..

I used the hummer limo for my engagement party - I took my whole bridal party and some friends, about 16 of us out after my party, we went to the Hamptons and then into NYC.. and it was horrible!!

I had about 12 guys & 4 girls in the limo we all felt as tho our knees were in our chest. It was extremely uncomfortable and no way at all fun to drive around in. Yeah, it looks awesome from the outside, but when your driving in it, it sucks!

I couldnt imagine sitting in their with my wedding dress on or anyone in formal attire.

Try Cruise Control limo. They are a vendor on here I think. I just need them to pick me up at home and bring me to Jericho Terrace. Good prices
