Theres alot of talk about limos right now so I thought I'd share an Idea I had..
My church is 2 blocks from my house. Would it be cheesy if we WALKED to the church from my house? I went to a wedding in Italy and they walk from home to the church and the entire town stands outside their homes and throws rice and almonds at you, it was the prettiest thing EVER! Obviously that wouldnt happen here in NY LOL but do u guys think it would be cheesy to walk there? And would it even save any $? We'll still have the limo at FH's home to drive them to church...
TIA!
ETA: my other concern was the rain.. I am NOT walking in the rain! Do you think I could get a backup limo when I book incase it rains?

They had something like that on Platnium Weddings the couple walked from the chruch to the reception (it was in a theater in NY). They had a Brazilian marching band and dancer walking with them down mid-town manhattan! It was cool they took pictures and danced something they'll all remember-

I thought about that too, because as you know my church is right in town, like 3 blocks from me. When my sister got married, she had the whole bridal party walk from my moms house, and she and my mom were in a limo. The pictures are amazing! People looking, smiling it's all captured. So a money saver it was, as well as the talk of the town

GO FOR IT!!!
I say Save the $$$ and make a statement all at the same time. It really isn't necessary to drive 2-3 blocks when you can walk and get some great video footage and photos. And you can save a few hundred dollars to put towards your honeymoon.

I love that idea. Not lame or cheesy at all. Seriously the pictures and video will have that extra something special. I say go for it. Such a cute and original idea!!!!

Love the idea...instead of doing a backup limo, do you have any family or friends with nice cars you can use incase of rain?
My friend lived near her church & did ribbons on the family's antique mercedes and some other cars they had...it would've been a waste to get a limo for the few blocks.
Just an idea.

Re: Limos- $ saver or lame?
Since you are already getting the limo for your FH you could walk and arrange if it rains for the same limo to pick you up and drop you off, that way you can choose if you want to walk or take the limo and it shouldn't be more money since its such a short distance.

Walking is a great idea, and since you are so close, if it rains, you can have your FH's limo pick you up after it drops him off! No need to pay for an extra limo for a short distance!
ETA: I'm not in walking distance from my church but, I'm having the limo that drops of FH and groomsmen come to my house and pick me up after it drops them off.

Sounds great but the only thing I would worry about other than rain is if it were really hot or humid that day since you are getting married in July.

Re: Limos- $ saver or lame?
Walking to the church is very traditional in European countries...if mine was just a bit closer I totally would!
