Lindenhurst Girls...Parking at RR Q..HELP!

Ladies, I'm going to be moving in April to an apt. in Lindenhurst & I'll be commuting to the city. I wanted to know how to go about being able to park at the RR station. Also is there a lot of parking? Does it pay to drive to Babylon to get the train?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I took the train for 3 years from Lindenhurst, although I didnt have to drive there. I do NOT think it pays to drive to the Babylon station. The parking there is much more filled. Lindenhurst actually just redid their parking maybe a year ago. And increased the amount of cars it can hold. All you have to do to get a premit (depending on where you live) if you are a village resident you can go to the Village Hall on Wellwood ave and get a parking permit, it will allow you to park in the RR lot and at the village docks. If you are a town resident you may have to go to the Town Hall on Sunrise, however I would start at the village hall. And you are going to need proof of residence and your registration for your car.

I loved using Lindenhurst station. There are a lot of trains and its not horribly crowded. You will always get a seat because its early in the commute. I found that the people were really friendly, I made a few friends from riding the train for those 3 years. Also so you know, a lot of people park on the residental streets across Hoffman from the station. Thats the area I used to live and its really safe so if you dont get your permit in time thats an option. To explain how safe it is. A friend of mine was running late, parked her car, left the window open, the doors unlocked and her keys on her front seat, and the car was perfectly fine when she got back 12 hours later!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

You'll have to park on the side streets (that's what my friends do). You can only get a parking permit if you live in the village and if I recall your apt. is down by the beach and that's not the village. They keep the station pretty snd that line is 99.9% of the time on time.

Thanks so much for your help ladies....yes the apt. is about 8 blocks from the beach...Elm Ave.

The sidestreets are fine...I'm from Queens & that is what I do at the RR station now (we don't have parking lots there).

You girls are the best. Thanks for the info.

There are no restrictions to parking on the street in the residential areas?
