Lions and tigers and bears!!!!

I need to vent!!

ok, so we looked at a bunch of RH, but when i walked into Jericho Terrace I knew it was where i wanted to get married, i was swept off my feet, good food, clean kitchen ( again i am a dork), and the perfect back drop to our day. FH agreed, and we booked!!!

So i am sleeping Sunday morning, at 7 AM!! and he flies across the bed landing right on top of me, and tells me he wants to change our RH, and when i finally open my eyes, he tells me he wants to get married at the BRONX ZOO!!?!?! I am ready to beat him up, i mean, i grew up in NY and no offense to my fellow NY's, but the bronx Zoo does not scream wedding to me let alone we are NOT animal lovers.

I am at a loss, maybe a compromise w tickets to the zoo for guests will work but otherwise, say a prayer for me. lol

IDK if you're doing e-pics, but what about compromising by doing the pics at the Bronx Zoo? I agree with you- it doesn't exactly scream wedding to me, and it would probably be really expensive to reserve enough room for a wedding (not to mention if the weather isn't great you're kinda screwed).

If i had a smaller wedding, i would TOTALLY do the bronx zoo. Mind you, i am a bronx-ite and go to the zoo multiple times every year (and my sister works there!). They actually do some amazing weddings and parties there! Its very very pricey though.

I like the idea of a compromise with the e-pics there.

I'm not a fan of JT, but if you LOVE it, then you need to talk it over with the FH.

He just happen to find it online while he was browesing wedding pics for centerpieces and he liked it.

Thanks ladies, i will chat w him tonight and maybe make another visit it JT, FYI for all they are having a bridal showcase 7/20/11. if its ok can i ask why you dont like it, is it more of a preferance or is it a bad experiance?

I didnt know it was so pricey at the zoo, maybe i will have him call and get prices and see where he is after that, we have a large wedding and I do not want to cut family for monkeys... lmao!

My best friend (before she just broke it off with her fiance a few weeks ago) was going to get married at JT and it is BEAUTIFUL!! Granted I've heard some negative things, but you hear things about every venue- not everyone is going to have the most positive experience. All that matters is that you and FH love it

since i'm a dork (clearly friendless, lonely and wedding-obsessed) I've been watching my 34 dvr episodes of my fair wedding all week long!!

i am watching it now and a couple wants 'passport to africa' and they planned it for a zoo!!

cute idea-if that's your vision and plan though!

i like the idea of compromising and doing e-pics there... or maybe incorporating some kind of theme into your wedding...

Ladies you are the best, he was not into having to get more information on and it was easily swayed toward a photo booth a tthe reception instead... insert me bending... lol i just do not see a photo booth at RH but its about both of us and it clearly makes him happy and I do love the idea of using it as our guestbook! Best part, no animal or animal themes at our wedding, we can save that for the babys room in a few years
