I am surprised at those prices by Lessing's because I was given in my quote and the contract the price included tax and gratuity. I am paying 80 bucks a person with all that included!

hmm yeah i don't know... I didnt meet with them, maybe in person you could talk them down. Or, maybe its because it is for the summer. But, it does seem like a big difference!

What type of information do you need to share to get quotes over the phone other than the date, time, and total people? Do you go into menu/drink options or anything like that?

you should tell them the day of the week, date, number of people. also find out if its open bar, is valet parking included. if i remember correctly i believe thats all i asked when i was calling.

It depends on the place... some places dont want to give you any information over the phone. You really have to word it correctly and tell them that you want to see if they are in your price range just so that you dont waste either of your time. I had one place even say, 'well tell me YOUR price range!' I thought that was rude. but anyway, if they do give prices over the phone you will have to probably tell them the general time of year you are interested, the day of the week, and approx how many people. All the places ask those questions and give you a price. Then when you meet with them they will further go over the menu and any extras that would raise the price! HTH!
