Live Band....

Did anyone choose to go with a live band. Any suggestions and /or prices please

Faze 4 bands are good. Also Franklin Wayne bands are worth listening to. Faze 4 bands are a bit more on the expensive side (esp. compared to Franklin Wayne) but are great! We are using Play by Play by Faze 4.

check out body heat, code bleu and heart and soul. they were our top 3 bands. we went with body heat.

we went with code bleu- through Skyline Orchestra's. They were really good. They are $5300. I added another female singer to the band which brought the price to $5600. That's still $1000 less than most bands. They have been very accommodating to me. I had a family trajedy and they held the date for me even when I didn't give a deposit. That is unheard of when it comes to bands.

I really like Heart and Soul (I think we were quoted $6500) they are a Franklin Wayne band. They were awesome!!!! Also, Oasis is really great (they are an Italian American band, but they are awesome!), and I think they cost around the same, but are located in NJ.

Try gigmasters.com - I found a jazz band (with singer) there for A LOT LOT less than most wedding bands charge. I think there are wedding bands on there too.

We saw Heart And Soul at 2 Bridal Expo's. The first one we asked their price and they told us $5500. The next one, 6 mos later they told us $6500! They honored their first price and we booked them.

we used the projekt (from soundcheck entertainment) they were AMAZING! everyone loved them, even those who usuaully preferred djs. people were dancing all night.

We used Times Square Orchestra

They were AMAZING - I can't say enough about this band. They really made our party and kept my guests up and dancing all night - we are still getting comments about them. I had guests telling me their date/spouse NEVER dances but they were pulling them up onto the dancefloor all night!

We are using the Next Faze by Faze 4. My sister used Ken James Orchestra.

Both are excellent and worth every penny!

We are using the Bud Maltin band and loved them when we heard them live. They have 2 lead female vocalists and a male lead, as well as other members who sing. They were reasonable and by far the best we heard.

We are using Skyline of Skyline Orchestras. They are $5200. I would go see a bunch and then make a decision. I would also recommen Timepiece and Renegade. They were good, too.

We are also using Next Faze (a Faze 4 band). As far as pricing, a live band will generally be more $$ than a DJ, but IMHO, worth the difference. It is completely a matter of taste though.
It really depends on what you are looking for. We were going to do the band then for the last hour do a DJ but once we heard the band, we realized it wasn't even necessary! They are fantastic! We are really into dance music (we love KTU) and the music was probably the MOST important part of the wedding. We have found that most people only remember the music!
We were also considering Paris (Sound Check) but they weren't available. We fell upon Next Faze from the recommendations of LIW brides to check out Faze 4.

That's who I used! They were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
