Livid re: invitations

I got my GORGEOUS invitations from t a m m y last week. FH went to the post office and told them he needs them HAND CANCELLED....well....stupid clerk said NO WAY WE DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE (i am in NJ...but regardless)...I can't even keep track of how many people have told me that their invites were destroyed, or ripped, or damaged, or flat out returned to my mother!!! I called last week and complained and the manager herself told me YES, WE DO HAND CANCEL!!! She asked who we dealt with and we told her, now the guy is more or less denying the whole thing and even saying that HE PERSONALLY HAND CANCELLED A FEW OF THEM!!!!!!! wtfffffffffff????
What the hell should i do?? These invite were $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and how dare they ruin them???

ETA:
Just to clarify, for anyone who is also using ta mmy, she is AMAZING!! This rant has absolutely NOTHING to do with her, it is strictly the post office and this moron working there!! She is amazing and I am getting loads of compliments on them!!!!

omg i dont get that!!!!! so you made it all up!!! THAT GUY HAS NERRRRRRRRRRRVE! Youre a bride....go claw his eyes out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would call them back and say you find this completely unacceptable - they were a lot of money and you do not care for the amont of disrespect the gentleman at the branch showed you and go to a higher up

Hmmm... did you mail them with the clerk who told you they don't hand cancel? And, if they were sent regular, through the machine, not hand cancelled- there is a very good chance they are fine & not ruined. Has anyone of your guests received them & can confirm the condition?

I dont think they will be ruined. It is easy for them to become dirty or damaged during transport. Your outer envelope will protect them.
Sorry that the guy at the PO was an rude-

wow, I would have your mom send you returned or any damaged invites and bring them in as evidence and see what they can do.

no it looks like she is getting reponses that her invites are coming in destroyed. I would log a formal complaint against the clerk. I mean what an @ss

The post office people are idiots, we've been having problems with them for 2 years. My step-mothers name is Elizabeth and I'm Lisa but they think we're the same person and I've been getting all her mail. Everytime we think its fixed I get something else.

I would bring the ruined invitations down to the post office and demand to sit down with the postmaster and the clerk that said that he 'hand cancelled them himself'

I hate people like that - just lie to get out of doing things the right way the first time.

I am so sorry that you had to go through this!

I've never had anything hand cancelled before...is there a way to tell if they were or weren't????
