How many of you live with your FH? If you don't live with your FH when do you plan to move- before or after wedding?
FH and I currently live with my family- but have no privacy (we basically just share a room). I like it now because we don't have to pay rent, but I know once we are married we will want our own place. I don't know if we should try to find an apartment before we get married or after. We want to save as much money as we can, which is why we have been putting it off. I also hate the idea of spending so much on rent (unavoidable I know). I would love to save for a house, but feel as if that would be extremely difficult while spending so much on rent & student loans (such a killer). I think I'm also nervous about leaving my family. I am extremely attached to them and have lived with them for 25 years. So basically I have never been on my own before. Has anyone else felt like this?

I just HAD to reply to you!!! I lived home until 31 (2 months ago!) FH and I have been together 11 years and seperated by about 20 miles and a $15 bridge toll and me not driving. It was so hard and ****** having no privacy. We finally had a game plan and moved in together. I am very close to my parents too and my mom is my best friend as I am hers as well. It's been REALLLY rough on her. I miss her but I am still in honeymoon move in phase but I feel awful for her. It's really hard but as I'm told- this is life. Best thing you could do.. at least what I feel.. was when you move out.. don't make a move out date. I just slowly started moving all my stuff and still have tons with her. Best of luck to you. Feel free to be in touch if you need support :)

I have been living with FH for the last two years in an apartment in CT. We like it here but really wish we could get a house so we can get a dog and have a backyard to sit out in and enjoy. We are hoping to get a house but since we are paying for the wedding mostly we will probably not be able to until after the wedding.
