Living Arrangments after the Wedding

Will you rent or buy? Do you see yourself staying in New York or relocating?

We're hoping to buy a condo on Long Island... or we'll rent first and then buy a home. Even though things are really tough here we really want to stay on Long Island... we both have decent jobs here, and we like it here.

My mother's retiring and wants a cozier place to live, so me and FH are going to rent from her for about a year or so with the option to buy

we'll either be renting or purchasing a co-op until we can save up to buy a house. i'm just excited that we'll be living together finally!

Definatly staying in New York- just dont know where!! And hopefully by 2010 we'll be able to buy something.

My parents are renting us one of their houses and we'll probably buy it in a few years. We've been living together for almost a year and a half now so really the only thing that will change is the name on the our mailbox

We've been renting together for 4 years now and hopefully plan to buy a house after we're married a year.

we're gonna rent from my mom for a while and then maybe buy her house.
we cant move out of NY cuz FH's kids live here

EVERYONE MOVE TO CONNECTICUT TO BE NEAR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So as many of u are aware, I live with FH in Connecticut, its been a year now. We are both originially from Long Island.

I miss Long Island so much
We stay here for FH's job and I can't complain b/c he definitely brings home the bacon!

Edited to add this: We are looking to buy a home, currently we rent. Its still pretty expensive up here though.

We will probably stay in NY for about 3 years after the wedding, then once we have that significant 20% down payment we will relocate. Even though one day we would be able to afford to own in NY, we could get a more for our money elsewhere, hopefully we can take the NY paycheck where we go too,lol. We are thinking Tri-state area (MAYBE CTor PA) so that Fh can commute to work since he has a really great job. But we've been looking at North Carolina and Florida, although I cannot stand the south, ( I was born in Florida and my dad owns 2 properties there), who can refuse a huge home with tons of land...

we currently live together in one of my parents apartments. we are looking at buying FH grandmothers apartment in bay ridge & flipping it & then buying my parents house when they move upstate NY.

I just might have to, lower housing taxes and a short commute!

There are a lot of women/ for brides who have moved to CT over on the lifamilies forum!
