for those of you that are living together and getting married in a RC church, did you tell the church that you live apart?

Ha we lied to the church and tole them we lived apart; I used my Dad's house and FH used our address. It's a white lie is suppose.

Re: living together?
I'm struggling with this too. We have not met with the priest yet but I am up in the air about whether or not to lie about living together. Problem is, the only people I knew who have gotten married at my church by the same priest didn't have this problem because they were not living together beforehand.
FH says we shouldn't lie and that if the priest has a problem with it than we will find someone else, but if I am getting married in a church I would really like it to be my church (if I had my way it would be getting married on a beach somewhere on a tropical island).

Re: living together?
I totally said that I lived with my parents and my FH said he lived at our address.
The priest was so mean about a bunch of other stuff anyway, we didn't want to rock the boat!

Re: living together?
Our priest did ask about our living situation and we could tell by the tone in his voice..it would NOT have been a good idea to tell him we lived together..so i used my parents address and FH used his parents address and we just left it at that

Re: living together?
FH & I are living together but we have our mail going to our parents houses still so we can just say we live apart.
I didn't really think that mattered, but I guess it does right?

ugh i know, i don't want to lie, but if we don't and its a problem, then i'd be pissed. like someone said above, its a white lie, right?

Re: living together?
my friend went through this too when she was booking her wedding.
She chose to tell her priest the truth because she didn't feel right lying to her priest, plus she felt like lying to her priest about something wedding related would be detrimental to the sacrament of marriage.

Re: living together?
Our priest is super laid back. He didn't ask us directly but when he was taking down our contact info he asked FH his address then looked at me and I said 'same' He didn't care

I think it'd depend on the priest. Our priest was pretty cool and I doubt he would've cared if we said we lived together, but I'd suggest feeling the priest out. If you think he seems laid back, tell him, if not, it's only a white lie. I can't imagine what impact it would have on the marriage.

Re: living together?
Our priest knows that we live together. We needed to get permission from the diocese to get married because FH isn't Catholic. On our permission slip, we had to put our addresses. We put the same address for both of us, and didn't have any problems. We got our 'permission' in a week.

yeah I forgot to add the last part. I said she decided to tell the priest.
I forgot to mention the fact that he was fine with it. It's not uncommon for people to live together before marriage, I guess it depends on how progressive their thoughts regarding the subject are.

Re: living together?
Our priest did not ask us, and when we filled out the paperwork, I wrote down the same address for both. It wasnt an issue for us. I felt bad if I lied to the priest.

3 of my friends teach in the school of the church were getting married at... one of them almost lost her job because her DH's uncle told the school admins that she was living in sin... so we figured it was best to just say we dont live together... its a pretty old school type parish also...

when we met with them the first time we lived at home - for our second meeting we pretended we didn't live together
