LIW (or anyone who knows!)

There is probably an obvious answer to this that I am somehow missing, but how can I set my preferences to show only NEW posts when I log on?
I keep defaulting back to posts from the last 2 days.

there used to be a tool bar on the bottom of each catagory that gave you the option of only seeing certain posts but I do not see that function anymore...unless its somewhere else!!

I hope that LIW can answer that!
