LIW question

Original post by ant n tilde

i have a stupid question. . . on everyone's profiles i have noticed that most people put 'booked!' or 'done!' next to the vendors, instead of names. I didn't think anything of it - some people are just private. . . but then i read a review from a bride that said some people cancel other bride's vendors!

so i was wondering. . . is that why most brides choose to hide their vendors? Or is it merely a personal preference?

TIA

i can't believe that !!
don't your vendors need it in writing if you are cancelling, when i changed something at the hall i had to go out there so they could write it down and i signed it,
some people are just so mean spririted

Believe or not, it's the truth. Luckily the person who tried to be me and cancel spoke to a receptionist that did not know me. When she told her boss, her boss then called me to verifty this b/c she knew me and knew it was a strange thing to do when I just made a payment the week before.

That happened to me and I posted awhile back. Someone pretended to be me and tried to cancel my reception site. Luckily they know me there and called me back and questioned me about it. It wasn't me, so i came on here to warn people. I heard it was done to previous brides with their photographers, so to be safe, I removed all my info.

Forgive me if I sound rude, but your reception hall and ceremony site are listed on your website. What is the point of you listing it there if you are not going to list it on here? Seems like you are putting yourself at risk either way.

It's always a good idea to keep in touch with your vendors anyway. I checked in with mine periodically so they wouldn't 'forget' about me.

Re: LIW question

when i first joined liweddings, i saw the 'beware' messages. i was so apprehensive that i actually decided to join theknot li board instead. i've yet to post any of my info on liweddings, but i like the idea of putting 'done' next to each vendor. and maybe one of these days i'll be brave enough to post pictures... :)

Unfortunately I was burned by a fellow LIW girl who was best friends with FH's crazy ex-wife. She made up a screen name and everything I posted on here she gave the details to psycho girl. It caused mucho drama and it's just not worth the aggrivation. Fortunately FH and I had the opportunity to move our date up and she does not have ANY of those details. It still makes me mad though because everytime I booke with someone I have to give them the speech that if they ever get cancelled it is to be done by me in person. It's pretty pathetic and embarrassing.

Edited for spelling.

OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS PEOPLE ARE CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Yup. To be honest I was really sad for her that she was that desperate to ruin our lives.

Re: LIW question

It's crazy but sadly true. Some couples have not only had vendors cancelled but also had people attempt to cancel their bridal registries. It's just sad that some people have nothing better to do with their time.

I did not post our vendors until after our wedding. I never posted on the offical 06 bride's thread and I never posted at all on the offical thread for our hall until after our wedding. In fact, I did not even post our date until the day after our wedding.

Only a few brides that I know (through phone calls, e-mail and FM) knew about our wedding details. I know some posters thought that I was one of the so-called 'fake' brides but it's better to be safe than sorry.

This is messed up! I think I may give up on the human race! I have seriously hated people in my lifetime. So much so that if they were dying on the street I would laugh as I step over the body and blow them a kiss buy buy! But I would NEVER cancel thier wedding plans!

Scary...and amazing how mean people can be. But I did hear this. When I told a friend of mine that a signed up here, she is a fellow LIW bride too, she warned me to be carfeul because there are crazy people out there!! Sorry to say it is true that other brides would sabbotage another brides wedding, but hard to believe!!

I never worried about it. I always just wrote who I used. I was in close contact with all my vendors anyway.

That info is there to be helpful to others not be used for insanity.

Re: LIW question

At first I was not private but then I heard the same thing around LIW and I took my items off in fear that would happen to me! It is kind of sad that we have to do things like that really!
