LIW 'The Kids' GTG *Updated*

I was too excited and had to start the post !

So, of COURSE everyone is welcome, with a kid or not, prego or not yet

Lets wait till mid-May or later, so theres NO chance of SNOW or bad weather (we hope! )

Lets throw in ideas of places, dates, etc.

Where does everyone live ? We'll find a happy midpoint..
A park, playground ? Picnic ?

Heather-thanks for this GREATTTT IDEA !!

Well I'm getting married memorial day weekend so my weekends in May might be filled. But you never know!

I live in Franklin Square

Re: LIW 'The Kids' GTG

I live in Levittown.

I love the picnic idea. Maybe we could go to a playground that has a picnic area to sit and talk. I am almost positive Eisenhower Park does.

I can't wait. We will have our own little Mommy and me group!

I love the idea. But Im all the way out in Riverhead. Willing to travel though... about an hour which is about the Babylon area

Re: LIW 'The Kids' GTG

Well I'm in the Commack/Smithtown area...

Can the Nassau mommies come further east to meet with Karen in between ?

Riverhead is pretty far..so lets shoot for a midpoint.

I am in syosset. Eisenhower sounds good but I guess to far west, does anyone have any ideas of places that are maybe in the western suffolk area so that we can compromise a little? I am in nassau so I am not too familiar with suffolk.

Re: LIW 'The Kids' GTG

I know alot of parks require town stickers..
Im not familiar with the south shore/Babylon area...
Anyone know of good parks around that area..or even north shore.. the ones I can think of require town stickers..

Theres a really cute beach I 'found' last year..Crab Meadow Beach...in Huntington township. they didnt require a sticker, they have swings, big playground in the sand, boardwalk to walk, table to eat at. Gorgeous. WE can walk the strollers, play in the playground and swings, and bring our bag lunches and eat at the picnic tables ! (they didnt require a town sticker, and it was a very clean, private type beach )

How does that sound To everyone :)

Anna - that sounds perfect. I think we should definately wait til May so the weather will be warmer. Is it better for a Sat, Sun, or Weekday? I only work 3 days a week and can pick ehich days so I am open. Except I have a party on the 3rd and 10th. And every Friday from 1:35-2:50 we go to Mommy and Me - but any other time is great! Should we invite the Daddy's too?

Re: LIW 'The Kids' GTG

If we can do during the week, for those of us that are home that would give us something to look forward too. Everyone's weekends seem to be packed with home-things, so whichever works with the majority is fine with me.

Id have to do late May also. I have things going on the 3rd and 10th also.

HOW TO GET THERE.

I 'found' this place by mistake, and the 'landmark' that reminds me of how to get there is this restaurant called Pumpernickels in Northport.

Just so that this landmark gives everyone an idea of how far and where they are traveling to: (we can eat our bag lunches @ the beach!)
Pumpernickels Restaurant
640 Main St, Northport, NY 11768

and the beach is I would say another 3-4 miles north from this restaurant. This is on a main road which everyone should be able to get to. I'll go there again before May and I'll come back and give exact directions

Its a gorgeous beach. Bring your cameras.

Also, for those that have never been, Northport Village is beautiful ! But be careful with the toddlers, the docks are wide open, so just the thought of a toddler running around scares me. But it is gorgeous to walk around, have lunch, watch the water, read a book...

So who's coming !

Do we vote weekday or weekend ?
I vote weekday, only because I have SOO much free time during the week !
Hows a 10:30-11am meeting time ?

Re: LIW 'The Kids' GTG

Derek is going to be working in Northport right by the Pumpernickle (sp?) rest. in May so a weekday would be fine. (We could go visit him)
