LIWeddings & anyone else
What is an IP address? What does coming from the same place mean? The same server or literally, the same computer? While I got that Diane and Laura may have been the same person, who was the third bride? Everyone else was a regular poster. Bride-To-Be has been around for a while and seems to know Laura.I am most unhappy with this locking trend
The old board was more user friendly and more friendly to users! We listened to bridal and bridee bash us for a pretty long time. I guess we could have been rid of them sooner if they had been offending the vendors rather than the brides.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
If three different brides work for the same company (Very Large company)you would have the same IP address. I have been posting here for months and if you don't believe Laura is a bride too just look at the Vendor board where Patken responded to this thread.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
An IP address is basically your computer's identity-just like your name. I'm thinking the 3rd bride is the one theat said, 'is this Laura's wedding?'.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
BRIDE-TO-BE is correct. Your IP address can be the same as someone else. It is not unique like your name.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
Every computer has a unique IP address. The same IP could mean that the posts are all coming from the same computer (not always the case but usually is).I'm not telling you to do this (notice the disclaimer) but to find out your IP on a windows machine click start - run - type command then click ok. then type ipconfig and press the enter key. Here is where you would see the IP address assigned to your computer. Just about every message board records the IP address of the poster.
All The Best!

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
YES WE ALL WORK FOR THE SAME COMPANY WHICH IS A VERY LARGE COMPANY AND THE IP ADDRESS IS THE SAME. DUE TO THE FIREWALLS-THAT OUR COMPANY HAS. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW A FIREWALL WORKS IT PROTECTS COMPANIES FROM LETTING JUST ANNYONE IN ON THEIR IP ADDRESSES SO THEY COME UP THE SAME.THIS IS TO PROTECT LARGE COMPANIES FROM VIRUSES. ANY HOW I AM QUITE REAL. AN D I WOULD NEVER JUST TRASH A COMPANY. I AM A PROFESSIONAL.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
Think of an IP address like a phone number. The phone always rings to the same house but anyone in the house could make the call.Diane is correct - people at work can all have the same IP address OR one person at a company can have a dynamic IP. IP addresses are not like fingerprints...they are only helpful in identifying a source. If the source is a corporate network, thousands of people could be posting from the same IP in theory.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
the only way to have a different ip every time is if you use aol as a dial up on your telephone line.Anyone else they cane easily be the same thru networked computers.
this locking trend is getting annoying, especially when it always seems to be the same vendors.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
This 'locking of threads' is getting really RIDICULOUS!!! I think Becky's right..It's very annoying that the negative comment vendor threads are being locked, but when there were threads of brides being really nasty to each other, nothing was done.

Re: LIWeddings & anyone else
Hi guys.. It's 'Laura' again...to clear things up... I am not Diane, although we do work in the same building... She had heard about my experience through a mutual co-worker who also used Patken. And just so you know... My mother just called me saying that Doug called and wants to speak with me. He says he had no idea how unhappy I was.. Not true, as I sat with him for 45 minutes 2 weeks ago, telling him everything I told you guys under 'Horror Picture.' He completey lied in his response. I am the bride...I think I know when my wedding date is....Also, I NEVER knew that they were switching photographers! -So I certainly never spoke to the photographer before hand... I spoke to a woman...an assistant. Anyway...I'll call him later and see...Thanks for keeping up with this addicting 'soap opera.'

I didn't think that you were yelling at me
And I did not for a second doubt Laura's sincerity, because you know her and you are a very credible poster who has been around for a while. The point I was trying to make was that I could see how LIWeddings might think that two very new posters were not legit, but I thought they were implying that you were the third (which it appears they were) and that you were not legit. Trying to defend you girlfriend

Laura:Not to be a troublemaker.... But why don't you put this whole thing to rest and just post a couple of photos from your wedding??

THIS IS FOR LI WEDDINGS-WHEN WILL MY POST BE UNLOCKED FROM YOU. OR WILL THIS BE PERMENANT. I FEEL LIKE THIS WEB SITE IS STRICTLY FOR VENDORS. ONLY IF YOU HAVE GOOD FEED BACK YOU CAN POST FREELY. I FEEL I CANNOT BELEIVE ANYTHING I SEE ON THIS WEB SITE AT THIS POINT. NOW THAT I KNOW IF A BRIDE HAS A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE , SHE CANNOT TELL ABOUT IT OR WARN OTHER BRIDES. SO I FEEL THAT EVERYTHING I READ HERE IS PROOF READ FIRST. TO SEE IF IT PASSES LIWEDDINGS.COM'S EXPECTATIONSWelcome New Vendors
